I was not told there would be man kissing.
Ruined the episode for me.

Well, not quite. Good pacing on that episode.

Uhm, would someone explain to me why a dead battery would stop a running engine? On the final lap they ruined the episode again. Is there anything these writers actually know something about?

i think it would be plausible. it has been over 25 years since i had anything to do with a RV but the charging system was always a pita.
it seems to like to stop working even with the most minor problems.
the alternator could have been bad and not charging, so when the battery ran out of juice it stopped
put in a charged battery and run it till it dies.
not sure if it would run on a deep cycle battery though.

Unlike normal cars, an RV is built with the assumption that it will sit around a lot, thus the deep cycle batteries hooked up to give a slow trickle to the main battery. You do the same shit with like marine batteries, motorcycles, etc.

My stepdad had an RV that sat around for like ten years and when he sold it the guy drove it off on tires that probably exploded as soon as he hit a bump. /csb

Good thing Glen was the only person who could tolerate Dale long enough to pick up a few tips!

Hopefully they introduce new and interesting characters to the show. The current batch is starting to get dull. As much as I hated s2 and much of the prison interaction the whole LOTR Fellowship of the Ring walking around doing nothing is equally tiresome.

an otto or diesel engine does not require any power whatsoever once it is running I thought. When my alternator failed on my last car, it was still running fine. It just stopped charging the battery.

Cars, most pickups and whatnot don't need a battery once running. Some RVs and other odd things do. In series charging and a bunch of other not needed to explain shit. You can goggle it if you want the useless details of it. Now the question would be, would that model/engine system in that RV require it.

I like how Carol is pretending to be a noob ;p Payoff will be great when she drops the disguise.

Either that or the congresswoman who is "really good at reading people" already knows/calls her out on it.

I really liked this episode. If for no other reason then it meant no more walking around do nothing episodes.
But, it's also fun to see some good things happening to the group, and for them to get some pre-apocalypse comforts back. Just seeing everyone happy to take a shower/brush their teeth made so much sense.
Based on what I know about the comics and how they pulled off this episode, I'm optimistic this will be one of the times the show actually does a better job then the comic with a storyline.

And his neighbor Jess has the hots for him. Rick is going to have to kill of her husband and take her as his own.

Loved how Rick flat out told her what was up while Carol lied her ass off. Her whole interview was lol worthy.

We saw why she was desperate enough to let people like them in though - her dumbass son is getting everyone killed as they need to range farther and farther for supplies. And the people she kicked out were probably threats to her control over the place. (girl is bringing them supplies - possibly a whole group of people hiding out nearby who were denied entry?)

And anyone who calls a gun a "sweet-ass biscuit" should have been zombie food inside of three hours.

Ya, Dbag "ROTC" kid is going to fuck things up somehow. But ya, Deana is definitely trying to shore up her power. She is trying to make them a part of her system, thinking that it will help her keep control by virtue of the fact that she is giving them positions of power (ie, law enforcement). She realizes her "military" sucks and she basically needs some elite special forces to keep things running.

Not sure if the show is more or less entertaining when episodes are actually good. Not much pausing and not much to complain about. Is confusing.

She knows she just let the sharks in. The only angle I can think of that she might think she has over Rick is the fact that he is so protective of his people. Kidnap someone, hide them somewhere, and Rick is hers, right? That's his vulnerability. He won't sacrifice his family. It's the last thing separating him from Shane or the Governor.

Or, well, that's what she's probably counting on anyway. Hell, maybe she knows he'll take over and doesn't care because she knows it's her best chance to survive. A congresswoman isn't a control freak, right?

Well, the other angle could also be she hopes they actually mingle/grow close to the community so they have a stake in it (ie, people in Rick's group hook up with people in the Safe Zone), in essence making them part of the "family". But ya, the fact they are all essentially a family does make potential control easier, even if the control is subtle. You have Michone who -really- want something like this and I'm sure Gabriel and Eugene will actually feel useful since priest and tech geek have limited functions out on the road, but serve some purpose in a town like this.

Btw, I saw this posted elsewhere, but the comic book Carl picked up had Wolf in the title and that girl who was sneaking out owned the comic book. Wolf group spy (the dudes that carved the W on the people's heads at Noah's own town)?

Yeah, I was thinking that too - possibly a whole army of crazies nearby and that's the real reason they let Rick's crew in. With the option to double cross them once the problem is taken care of because the lesser monster is still a monster.

Rick expects it but is willing to play along for the sake of the others. Daryl isn't even bothering to take a shower, hah. He doesn't give a shit about playing civilized because it's just something to miss when everything falls apart again.

"Dammit son, what did I tell you about asking outsiders to play video games?"
