I'm probably not considered the norm but I can round up 2 machettes, a katana, 2 swords, a broadsword, a short sword and a spear within 10 seconds in my room. Along with 2 pistols and a shotgun.

everyone has a shovel or a broom with a wooden handle. if you do any kind of yardwork you likely have lots of good weapons already. hell a baseball bat with some nails in it will do and if you dont have at least a bat, you probably are some kind of communist.

TWD has become like a bad D&D campaign where the DM is a little too forgiving for the sake of not ruining the entire campaign when someone does something stupid.

Okay, your wife is stuck on a rickety wooden platform and doesn't see there's a sturdy catwalk on the reinforced metal wall behind her. What are you going to do?

Well, I send the kid to climb up the wall and across the sturdy catwalk to stand with my wife on the rickety platform as I get the zombies attention by shooting more bullets than can fit in the single full clip we happened to find and I shoot wildly at that and then run off to get myself cornered because I forgot how to run through slow moving zombies even though that was a skill I selected at character creation and have used plenty of times in the past!

Ummmm, okay, let me roll the die behind the board so you can't see it's a 1 so I can just make shit up to save the day because the other players are getting pissed at your dumb decisions. Oh, look, you rolled a 20, saved by inexplicably well aimed assault rifle fire!

A typical garden shed has all the weapons a real man needs.

DM: "Your town is overrun by literally hundreds of zombies. Less than a dozen townsfolk survive. What will you do?"
Player: "I'm going to run out with my remaining townsfolk with 1d2 maces and fight all of them."
DM: "You are aware that only one hero on your team has any mace skill and the rest of your team range from ranged weapon users to peasents which suffer a -5 on all melee rolls, yes?"
Player: "Yeah sounds good."
DM: "Well what do you know, natural 20! All the zombies are slain by the hand of your untrained army."

My wife convinced me to watch this because she still claims it is great TV. Done for the season... again..
What the excitement of using the trope of "A character is going to die but at the last split second they get saved by another character" twice in one episode wasn't what you consider the height of excellence in television?

In fairness, it was a suicide charge and they were almost certainly going to die until Daryl showed up and RPG'd a pond. (for practical reasons they couldn't burn down the neighborhood so let's pretend that scene looked more like Bronn lighting up Stannis's fleet)

Biggest letdown is they didn't use the classic 80's RPG launcher sound. WOLVERINES! But it worked great at the beginning when the gang just blew up for seemingly no fucking reason like one of those Michael Bay memes.

Essentially I stopped watching in S2, but I did catch some of S3. The episode has already happened a dozen times in various locations with different actors.

Thewalkingdeadis not well written. If you're surprised by this at this point, you might be stupid. You either watch it with its flaws because it can be interesting and hey we've watched 6 seasons already, or you don't. It hasn't gotten more or less stupid since the start.

I disagree Cad. Season 2 was the peak of stupidity, whoever wrote the farm season was retarded
I dunno I think the governor fight season was easily stupider than the farm season. Both are pretty dumb, but I think the governor/prison season was dumber.

Unfortunately, I'm going to watch almost anything with zombies in it. Except for Z Nation, that might arguably be the worst TV show I've ever seen.

Anyways, just wanted to throw in my super-tasting review of the episode, I'lll stop shitposting here
I think it is literally impossible to shitpost in thewalkingdeadthread. Even Tanoomba couldn't come up with something dumber than the plot holes in this show.

I don't get this at all. This episode was entertaining, but it didn't make any sense. There used to be logic to how the walkers reacted, now they just do whatever fits the story at the time.

The show is the show, warts and all, and I enjoy it, but I really do not understand what made this episode so great when I can think of 8-10 off the top of my head that were just flat out better crafted episodes of TV.
Well, I cannot answer for everyone, but the less uninspired interpersonal forced/piss poor acted terrible dialogue drama they have between characters, the better. Coupled with the fact that it was full of action, shock, and zombies all over the place in a dire situation.

I would rather see that then 15,000 more episodes of the farm where Rick and Hershel keeping saying,

Rick (Insert any character): "We need to talk.... "
Hershel (Insert any character)"Yeah we should do that"
Rick (Insert any character) "Now isn't the time"
Hershel (Insert any character)"When is the time?
Rick (Insert any character) "I'll tell you later. In the meantime, know we need to talk"

Jesus Christ. This shit eats up an entire episode sometimes with the most useless jawing back and forth I have ever experienced in any show. I damned near stopped watching after season 4. After 42 episodes, 7 of them being worth a shit, and 35 of them being useless back and forth so poorly written I would turn off my TV in disgust, this episode (And hopefully more like it in the future) finally brought back some decent excitement.

However, I am sure, next episode, it will be 45 minutes of non stop "Hey you ok?" "yeah I am ok" "No.... You aren't ok." "No really I am ok" bullshit and about 4 minutes where a zombie may encroach a house.

But, dude, we get the chilling suspense of whether it will be a normal, shambling, growling zombie, or a stealthy ninja zombie. I can't wait!
