This show is starting to get old. I'm not sure how much more of these inconsistencies I can take. Between zombies being able to chew threw anything with their rotted out teeth or slopping on zombie guts to engage stealth mode like it's only allowed once every three seasons. So much of this show pisses me off with its bullshit writing and repeated storyline. Of course I could be the only one who feels this way but I don't see myself watching the show anymore after this season.
What pisses me off at this point is how they handle death.
If a character is clearly in danger and his struggle is the focus, he will never die anymore. Girl with the rifle climbing up the ladder in s08? No way she's gonna die. Glenns non-death? Same thing, a lot more stupid.
Carol falling down on the run, like all the other muppets? She's fine, and plot armor even protected her ankle, apparently the frailest part of the human body. Damn, got up with the wrong foot, now my ankle's busted. Oh tied my shoe too tight. Broke my ankle.
This basically removes all the suspension from these scenes. I know they're going to make it.
If characters die, it's either ninja zombies taking a guard dog speed bite with perfect accuracy (a stealth only ability the zombie can't do if on camera), or bites off camera. The writers are apparently trying to establish an atmosphere where you think no character is safe, ever, because that works so well on GoT, but they really fuck it up. Martell would not have lost to the Mountain in GoT. Renly wouldn't have died to the phantom thing if the writers of TWD had written it. Instead, an assassin would suddenly appear from under the table and stabbed him in the face. Including a previous shot of either the assassin being clearly visible under the table for anyone but the knights in the room. Or a shot without anyone hiding under the table
If they had actually killed Glenn in a no way out situation following a 2-3 minute scene of him struggling to get out, all these other struggle scenes would have meaning again.
