not sure why all the hate for the last episode. i thought it was well done ... could have been better of course, but after that abomination of S3 that was easily the best/most entertaining episode.

That was the best episode on the show that I can remember. I was hoping it was a sign to come, and then the show regressed back to mean.It had actual character development, and Morgan was a well liked and quickly established character in the first episode. And it showed them doing something positive for once, getting weapons instead of yelling dramatically or getting abducted or whatever. That whole thing with the hitchhiker is about as subtle as this show gets as far as metaphors go. It wasn't perfect or anything, but it was good in context.
You can have your show be a soap opera. Shit, one of my favorite shows is Mad Men which is basically a soap opera for men. But if you do, the character development and story have to be there.
Everyone should know by now, don't look at Carl funny. He's been sitting in the corner glowering like Batman since he shot his Mom. In life, there's people you just don't mess with.Reading other reviews and stuff, I guess the writers wanted us to agree with Herschel that Carl was unjustified in his murder-death-kill on Extra#5? Yeah, I don't see that.
Epic fail on their part then. If someone points a gun at you and tells you to drop your weapon you have three options:Reading other reviews and stuff, I guess the writers wanted us to agree with Herschel that Carl was unjustified in his murder-death-kill on Extra#5? Yeah, I don't see that.
2) If you're trying to convey that the kid handing the gun to Carl is totally complying and doesn't deserve to get shot, don't direct the actor to look like he's trying to goad Carl into getting closer like they do in every secret agent movie ever. I think it is pretty clear they *wanted* us to believe the kid was innocent and just complying, but he *looked* like he was trying to get Carl into range to disarm him. To me that's just terrible, terrible directing. Now it ruins the whole point of Carl being slighly psychotic, because hell, I might have shot the fucker too if he edged any closer.
