They should fucking let Karl lead, he is the smartest one there. I was waiting for him to say "Gee Whiz Dad, I guess with all these rifles and ammo sitting here we could have just used them first and killed the zombie mob in less than 5 minutes but instead we let them build up and tear down all our fences. Really fucking smart!"

I was wondering why they left their gun barrel against the outside fence which any person. Alive or dead could reach through and rain death on these fools

The pilot was balls. I only downloaded this last episode because peeps here were saying it was awesome. Maybe by TWD standards, but that's not saying much.

I don't think anyone said the last episode was awesome. Couple people said it was pretty good for TWD, but that's about it.

Kind of nice they are doing a change of pace. Looks like the next episode will be a Governor side-story as well.

i predict the govenor side story is gonna be a retelling of his origin story, i already see parts of it here, story guys are just cherry picking parts of twd comic and just making them fit.

Was a good episode I thought, really enjoyed it and seeing the Governor fall and acknowledge the person he became. Will be interesting to see if he revisits that that path or not as time goes.

I would assume this all takes places before he comes back to the prison, so we can already see he returns to his old self, leaving the dead rats at the fence to draw the mob to break it down.

Oddly, this last episode with the governor felt more natural than the show typically is. There wasn't constant, superfluous dialog. There weren't constant ninja zombies jumping out of every shadow. Everyone didn't seem perfectly groomed. There wasn't a newly detailed Hyundai in every other shot. I hate everything from the Governor storyline last season, so had my doubts, but fuck if the world didn't finally start seeming a bit more natural and not like an episode of As The Zombocalypse Turns.

It started going off the rails, though. The truck inconveniently breaks down. An inconveniently twisted ankle. An inconvenient freezing in the face of impending zombies (even though it was the little girl, still sick of that trope). An inconvenient hole to fall in... and I swear didn't the hole seem covered? You wouldn't need to really camouflage a hole as walkers seem to walk into anything in their path, and then once inside the hole I didn't remember any sticks and leaves and shit from it caving in. And there were walkers already in there that would have busted through the covering. Bleh. I don't even go back to check anymore when shit seems like it might have been dumb. Just knowing they're so capable of that kind of thing is ruining enough.

And now we'll be back to a ton of overwrought dialog. Can't wait!

Last week I was so mad that the gov showed his face again, and I knew this week's episode would be terrible. Surprisingly, it was actually pretty decent. Biggest beef was the twisted ankle 2 seconds before zombie attack - zzz. It really didn't even add any suspense, it was just completely contrived for no reason.

Minor note - does anyone here actually live in Georgia or around there? I'd like to know if anyone there would EVER say "The 75." I know in Michigan, that highway is called I-75. I've never heard anyone calling their highways "The" other than us pretentious assholes out in California. For a second I thought I was watching "The Californians" on SNL instead of The Walking Dead.

Yeah when I figured out last night was going to be all about the Governor I was kinda annoyed but I ended up liking that episode more than the regular cast episodes.

that episode was pretty damned good. it turned to shit as soon as their truck broke down.

you could see it was headed that way when gov was leaving that untouched apartment building with all the food and peace and quiet. he is leaving and the chick says, no! you have to take us with you! that must have been the moment when the usual walking dead writers came back from their lunch break and notices the new guy was throwing some fucking pacing into the episode and told him to knock that shit out. this show is about melodrama, poorly written dialogue and tacked on zombie scenes and then took things over from there.

The chick tripping on nothing right before the zombies show up was a BIG eye roll moment but overall the episode wasn't horrible.
