Minor note - does anyone here actually live in Georgia or around there? I'd like to know if anyone there would EVER say "The 75." I know in Michigan, that highway is called I-75. I've never heard anyone calling their highways "The" other than us pretentious assholes out in California. For a second I thought I was watching "The Californians" on SNL instead of The Walking Dead.
Hey hey hey, let's make sure we clarify that only Southern Californians call highways "The." Up here in civilized Northern California we speak properly.

Up until the last couple of minutes, this episode was the best I've seen in a long time on this show.

Right, or we say "the MassPike", but referring to a normal highway, usually we just say the # only or "route" before the # if it is an older highway that predates the interstate.

yeah, i have never heard someone say The 75. if i did i would think that person was some kind of foreigner, in fact isnt some of the cast English? in the UK dont they say "The" next to their roads? "The M5" or "The M6 for example"?

Are we really nitpicking a road sign? Is this what it's really come to?
No, not really nitpicking anything. Someone in the episode (one of the sisters) said "The 75" and I was just wondering if any native of Georgia would actually ever say this or if it was imported from Los Angeles. I only noticed it because I get mocked for saying "the 405" by my brothers, since I am originally from Michigan, and the same highway there is I-75 - no one would EVER call it "The 75".

Stop making us look bad by arguing over something so silly.

That episode was really good. The only reason we roll our eyes at these stupid people getting themselves hurt in the worst situation is because they've done that over and over and over. If this had been the first instance of the writers using it, no one would have complained about poor writing.

Also, how do people that stupid survive for a year? And how does someone with stage 4 lung cancer survive for a year only on oxygen tanks? Stage 4 is highly fatal within months. At least he died right away.

I thought the episode was solid too, and agree about the tripping shit. They had the exact same thing in the last episode when people started turning into zombies in the prison. The little girl is walking backwards and luring a zombie towards her when all of a sudden TRIP OUT OF NOWHERE over nothing as the zombie closes in! Then this bitch trips over absolutely nothing in the middle of the road and jacks her ankle? Come on, that crap was laughably old in the late 80's. Ugh...

What made the episode good to me was first off, it had basically all new characters including The Governor. I know his character isn't new, but the demeanor was so different that he's basically a new character with a bit of backstory at this point. It was basically all fresh stuff without all the stupid shit we've seen from the prison people. Secondly, no forced and stupid dialogue like we see every episode from the entire prison arc. For the most part I've mainly liked this season because we're finally seeing them move away from the prison/Woodbury and actually scavenging for supplies. At this point the prison is more boring than the farm ever was, and I'm hoping the whole thing gets contaminated with that flu or flooded with zombies so they have to abandon it.

Governor is a better character when he's walkin around like the man with no name. Once he shaved and opened that yapper his character gets lame again.

Episode over all was solid as hell, it's a shame we know it's going to end up being stupid with him going back to the prison.

i must be the only one who thought this episode was horrible. i turned it off about 3/4 of the way through, just felt like something was missing.

My problem with the show is that it gone form so controversial/bad that I enjoy watching it to somewhere in murky mediocrity that I can marginally get myself to watch it.

The Governor's behavior in the last episode seemed rather incongruent with how he has been portrayed on the show so far.

The constant bitching? The irrational behaviour by people who've supposedly survived the zombie apocalypse for 2 years at that point? Totally contrived zombie threads after they made the zombies pretty much irrelevant by 3 seasons? Should be easy to point out what you're missing.

Binkles, the Governor was in complete delusion about how his people perceived him. The huge "fuck you" graffitis with his name, him being abandoned in the night by his last soldiers (ironically, losing an eye seems to have impeded his hearing more than his sight) made him realize that not only he is a monster, he also no longer is able to hide it from anyone. So he just lost it. And when he got it back, he was changed. Makes sense to me.

I'm still baffled at the inconsistency of zombie behavior in this show. In some scenes people casually walk away from a pack of zombies or stand around while zombies shamble by and in other scenes they come to a cross road with zombies 30 yards away and it has to be a all out sprint to get away.

The show doesn't have to be "believable" but it would be nice if it were consistent.

yeah granted, the shots of the ex-Gov just walking through zombie masses without them even turning towards him were weird, but ultimately not plot relevant so I'm willing to let it slide. Those weren't even specific scenesm just there to give a general feeling of him wandering the countryside aimlessly.

maybe the road zombies just had a big meal and the senior citizen home zombies were chilling for over a year and were starving???

I noticed it as well. Don't know if it had to do with the blood stains all over his shirt or his rotting eyeball. We know you can mask your scent, was never said you had to have fresh guts wrapped around your head nonstop though. Hopefully that gets cleared up at some point.

I felt that it was the show trying to show how the Governor was sorta dead himself at that point. My family and I started rolling tho when he pulled that Matrix sidestep move on that one zombie without even trying.

It was just showing that he's so numb he doesn't even care to kill biters. This shit ain't complicated.

He pretty much had nothing left: He lost Woodbury, he lost his minions, he lost his zombie daughter (and any hope of finding a "cure"), and he lost his chance at revenge.

I actually am curious as to how the surrogate family thing will work out. In essentially replaces the core of what he lost (wife + child), so in a way it is like a "second chance" to correct the wrongs of the past. I have a feeling reconnecting with his minions is going to severely test that, if not outright destroy it.

This is all it was. It fit the imagery for that really shitty, over the top montage the episode started with. This didn't bother me nearly as much as chick tripping over the imaginary branch. But whoever pointed out earlier that they've done this the whole show is correct. The girl tripping on nothing isn't surprising at all given how crappy the show has been. It's still just really fucking stupid.
