Best episode in a long while imo. Although I gotta nitpick about one thing each week just because its part of the fun watching/talking about this show. My biggest nitpick this past week was kinda similar to one a couple weeks ago. These are apparently some uber lethal zombies. We all knew the kid was dead when his dad said he was sleeping, so he comes out, bites his dad on the arm, aaaaand, he's dead. This one kid zombie is able to take him out just from biting his arm, just let me lay down and become a zombie meal now. That and of course a lot of "convenient" things happen in the show like you assume besides just conserving ammo they haven't lay wasted the zombies at the fence with ar-15s yet because the noise would attract more zombies. The whole perimeter of the fence had zombies before, where are the rest of the zombies? I really like Carl's character development though, he went from a whiney little bitch I hated in season 2 to Cptn. Badass.

comic carl vs. tv carl is weird, it took nearly 100 issues for comic carl to get to where tv carl is currently, when in my best comic gestimation this story should take place around issues 30ish. (yes i know tv series is not supposed to follow comics, yada, yada)

i mean seriously, it was only just the past couple of months comic carl was accepted by rick, in a "carl is a man now, he takes care of shit in this world" that scene where he basically said "son here's a machine gun, load it like this and kill" rick and carl had to go through a lot of shit both individually and together to get type of zombie accepted bond.

I just dislike how they deal with the reanimation time now - in the first season it was a random amount of time between immediate and a day ... now it's based on the plot (which I understand), but it goes from "help me wheel this dead guy away and we can kill him out of sight" or, "let's take this infected guy in the RV with us for most of the day and then dump him on the side of the road later" or "Amy died, I'm going to watch over her for 12 hours" to an instant frenzy at 2 seconds in just because it makes it more tense. RNG would have had to be a real bitch for all those zombies to be getting up in Hershel's face.

Oh hey, let's spend 8 hours propping up the fence with logs instead of 45 minutes stabbing them in their paper mache heads to kill EVERY SINGLE FUCKING ONE FOREVER.
This is exactly what I thought. Hey let's reinforce the fence against all these zombies trying to break through. Then once that doesn't work, break out machine guns and mow them all down. Wait, why didn't we just kill them in the first place??? Overall, liking this season a lot. I groaned so loudly when they showed the governer at the end of this episode though - DO. NOT. WANT.

Mures, the arm bite didn't kill him. The zombie devouring his neck did.
The point is, when you get bit in the arm, you don't curl up into the fetal and tilt your head to the side to expose your neck. You forearm that bitch, chop your own arm off and bludgeon some brains with it.

This show compounds retardation upon heaping piles of retardation. Like Mures said, we all knew the fucking kid was dead... yet what do you know, dad gets eaten, in the dumbest way possible by his own son. They are just going out of their way to infuriate their own audience at this point.

Most people aren't giant sperg nerds that get angry at tv shows about zombies
Seriously. The general audience member for this show saw that scene and was like "OMG ZOMBIES YES!!!!!!!!" and nothing else. People fucking love this show. And when I complain about all the dumb shit to most of my friends all I get is people rolling their eyes at me. I honestly think there's one chick in our social group that doesn't even want to speak to me because she worships this shit.

When I saw the zombie army I was like, "Fuck yes finally!"

Then nothing happened with them. >_< This describes the show for me.

Zombie army? Maaan, that was the Million Zombie March headed toward DC to, like, express their, like... ummm, I don't know the media would ignore the point of the march outside of the fact that many, ahem, zombies in a group really make folks uncomfortable!

I'm sure when it's convenient the zombie hordes will be brought back into the 'story' and probably with The Gov leading them! Then he'll just play the reluctant sociopathic dictator again. What? These zombies? Aw shucks, they chose me as their leader, and I'm just trying to keep them safe! And I'm sure zombie Andrea is going to fall for that shit all over again.

Son bites arm, guy in pain, falls to ground/zombie pushed him over, munches dude's neck. Let also forget everyone in there was dying from the ebola-flu. There are worse stretching belief moments in this show.

Anyways, I read an interview where the Gov wants the prison. My prediction: he succeeds and group abandons prison...then that ultra horde shows up and traps him in there with no way out. Group tries to track down the source of the radio broadcast.

Ok. Shows how much attention i pay. I do start off paying attention then melodrama happens and my eyes glaze over and just surf the web til a zombie scene .
Can we just link to this post the next time you argue against the entire thread why xzy didn't make sense, because when you "watched" the show, it actually was just on the TV in the next room and you played a video game? I'm only watching this on a small window at work, being distracted while working and I understood it right away what he meant by infected.

On the episode, the show still has it's downs and it's abyss downs.

freshly risen flu zombie gets to walk out of his cell? They just stopped locking those doors as the people got worse?
then they just pile out?

Then Rick teaches Carl how to waste as much ammunition as possible. ignoring that, is that actually how these assault rifles work? Hold Trigger for burst? The G3 and G36 I used had two different non-safety settings on the safety flip, one for single shot and one for full auto. I thought all ARs worked that way.

But hey, that's how the assault rifles in Left 4 dead work, which is probably their source material for zombie combat.

and then the final ugh

What is she tripping over? Why even show a close up of her tripping over nothing? It's amazing how in a show called The WALKING dead, the living characters are too stupid to walk when it counts. Three options
Have her trip, don't show a close up
Have her trip over something in a close up
Have her trip over nothing in a close up
They chose the worst option.

The fact that they're also hardly ever killing off someone who isn't past of the "new guys" doesn't help with suspension. Rick was taken down by a zombie at the fence? ah no worries, he's not gonna die like a red shirt. Michonne gets wrestled to the ground because she wants to choke a zombie? She'll be fine.

But red shirts die so suddenly. Zach gets grabbed and bitten by a zombie who was in the very spot D'angelo was pulled out of two seconds earlier. That zombie had some mad crawling skillz.

Am I the only one dreading the governor's return? What an annoying character.
He was un-fucking-bearable last season. Knowing he'll also shit on S04 isn't helping.

I also think the fence issue is incredibly contrived, but killing them apparently doesn't solve it. See, after 8:00 minutes they despawn if not looted and after 29 minutes and 45 seconds they respawn. There may be a rare spawn with a common drop and a rare drop, but it hasn't spawned yet and they've been camping prison fence for a few months now it has to be some really great loot. That's why you don't see the corpses slowly piling up, that's why there's always the same number of zombies. I've tried to come up with another explanation why a prison in the middle of nowhere with only tiny hamlets and villages around it would have a year long infinite stream of fresh zombies at their gate for months and years. But this is the best I can do.

and those are some shitty terribad logs if they break apart in the center because pressure is applied to the top.

But it's not all bad. I really liked that they actually had to find batteries for the car. I'm pretty used to the deterioration of tech being ignored in zombie media at this point, such as gasoline in the abandoned cars still being good after 20 years in TLOU, so it was nice to see this actually realistic depiction of equipment deterioration. Maybe next time they'll get it right that tires would be flat after such a long time of the car not having been moved.

Uhm, what? Of course they snap in the middle. Because pressure is applied at the top AND bottom. Grab a stick. Hold it at both ends and bend. See where it breaks. Dead smack in the middle, because pressure is applied evenly, and it will break at the furthest end of where pressure is applied, since it's at both ends it will break evenly in the middle.
