Holy shit, I never realized he was Nick Sobotka.Damn near laughed my ass off the first time I saw Pornstache in Orange is the new black.
I couldn't get over how much of a bitch the main character was (especially cheating on her husband while he's at home taking care of the kids - her unbelievably younger and more attractive husband). They were trying for a female House, but House had enough humor and decent side characters to balance him out, whereas Nurse Jackie is just a bitchy bitch all her bitchy day long, and all the side characters are boring, bitchy, boring and bitchy or absurdly naive not to notice that something is up with Jackie in 2 seconds.imdb confirmed Merrit Weaver from nurse jackie is in a couple of wire episodes...Nurse Jackie grows on you. It's dark and about drug addiction.
This is one of my favorite things about the show. In a lot of TV, actors grow into their roles. McNulty is the same dude in that opening scene as he is at the end of the show. Props to the show creators for pitching the characters so perfectly from the get go.Watched episodes 1 and 2 last night, wife's girlfriend had never seen or heard of The Wire. Will probably end up rewatching the whole thing with over the next few weeks with them. Still so amazed how good the show is and how much the cast clicks from day one.
I thought season one was a lot to swallow on the first watch. On any viewings after I've enjoyed it just as much as any of the first four seasons. Finally started watching this. I started last week and I'm on the season 1 finale tonight. It's as good as advertised for sure!
The 16:9 thing will never happen. It will always be 4:3, even if it somehow got released on Blu-Ray. There is poor compression on the DVDs, particulary season 4 for some reason, so an HD re-airing in 4:3 would still be an improvement. No matter what they used for the actual shoot, it's better than the broadcast or the DVD, even if it's not in HD. If they upscale it and then pan and scan to have a 16/9 image, that might not be much of an upgrade though.
