A few years back, I bought a box set off Amazon and I am pretty sure it was a pirate copy that came from China. They had all the disks for all the seasons, but the graphic on the discs were all fuckered up. Like the artwork on the season 1 disk was for season 3, etc...

Amazon burns their own copies for sale on a ton of different TV series. This is probably what you got.

If possible to choose, what is your favourite scene from 'The Wire' that you were involved in?

My favourite scene is when I tell Avon that I killed D'Angelo. That was the scene yeah. It was a very Shakespearean Scene. And Avon and Stringer end up on the floor. It's actually the scene that sealed Stringer Bell's fate, although he didn't know it. I remember Wood and I, we sat in a trailer - and discussed what we were going to do pretty much all day. And ended up going in on set. It was incredible.

Why don't they just make an HD version but in 4:3? why the fuck they must do in 16:9? is it because "derp derp now all tv's are 16:9 and for the new audience experience"?
Just want to say "Fuck the average viewer!"

I don't know, I really wish they did. Hopefully some day.

This was a nice answer from David about it:

I think HBO is committed to this as a means of reaching more audience. And, to be fair, they financed its production and production - and did so for five years without much of an audience. They own it.

I'm grateful that they made room in the process for the filmmakers to the extent that they did.

I kinda liked it. It seemed like their whole point was that you kept expecting something awesome to happen and the awesome never happened. I expected a bang bang war story and sort of got an off kilter melodrama about some bored soldiers. Which, from the (very few, a handful) of veterans that I've talked to who were over there for that was basically accurate.

Been years since I watched it. Maybe I should watch it again.
