In a perfect rational world you are 100% correct. Problem is you have to put yourself in their shoes. I can fully understand why Palestinians do what they do and the way Israel also does what they do. There is a real fear on both sides of one another and just letting some kid throw a rock at you or stopping your car can get you killed. I simply side with the non muslim side because their culture is compatible with my life.
