Then the spin machine comes out and starts saying things like the IDF shot "near" the school and talk about magical antipersonnel weapons that only kill exactly the people that need killing.

At the time of the strike, witnesses reporteddozens of people including children gathered around the gate trading with street vendors, when a missilestruck some 8-10 meters from the gate. Witnesses also claim that the missile was fired from one of the IDF's unmanned drones.
(Guardian)
The missile struck the groundeight to 10 metresfrom the open gates. Witnesses at the scene less than an hour after the explosion claimed it had been fired from one of the many unmanned Israeli drones in the air above Rafah.
(Telegraph)
Witnesses to Sunday's incident said a missile that appeared to be a rockethit an area justoutsidethe gatesof the Rafah Preparatory A Boys School where children were queuing to buy sweets and biscuits from stalls.
As I said in my post; the U.S. weapon, which you call "magical", was developed for use in urban centers, and has a "safe" distance of about 10 meters. In this case, the motorcycle was driving around the school (If you believe the IDF, they speed toward schools to take cover in the crowds--but other sources say they were just driving by it to another destination). There were stands set up IN FRONT of the school; and the bike was about 8 meters (25ish feet) away when the missile hit. While the "magical" missile certainly does have a very small kill radius; 8 meters is just not enough distance to be safe. A few kids were hit with shrapnel; at least one (Not the girl) was hit in the chest and died from a wound near his heart.
Nothing about those statements excuses the IDF's mistake; however, it's obviously a little more complex over there than you are willing to believe. (Also, I'm not defending the blog; the guy makes some...dubious..leaps by noting minor things like "zomg the girl's mouth is open! she is alive") But there are plenty of major news stations that report the same thing.
Anyway, we were discussing this incident (Because it received actual condemnation from the U.S.). But from what I can tell, there have been 6 incidents around schools/aid centers. Of them, only one actually struck the school itself (And there is a lot of debate over if people were there, meh. I believe there were--the IDF spin machine is working like crazy though.)...The most deadly was actually from a tank shell that hit on a street
outsideof a school, but then the shrapnel flew through the window, and the wall, into where 2-3 families were living and killed ten people. That incident, imo, was a lot worse than this one that drew "worldwide" condemnation. (But there were few comments on it because it wasn't clear cut, due to Hamas launching rockets in the area and at first we suspected it might have actually been Hamas that had a misfire--so everyone stayed quiet, except for a complaint from the U.N.)
