I can't believe any of you thought that episode was good. Our wild sex addict character just had G rated fully clothed kissy sex after making it through the most terrible orgy scene ever shown. Plus invulnerable godwarrior out gunning 5 guys only to get shot dead when he randomly emerges from the underground railway. This season has been more disappointing than I imagined an all female cast would have been.

They made a point of announcing that the tickets that Frank bought can be changed. I bet they get his wife and his last loyal man when she goes back to their place to pack, Frank goes down trying to grab the Russian's money, then Ray and Ani use the tickets and Frank's folding money to get out of the country when Frank's plan goes south.

Velcoro might try to punch Frank's ticket, because he probably won't accept Blake was the one who sold him out after Frank has already killed him.

The same way the female runaway who is actually not at all sympathetic to you 'saving' her is sent away with her sister despite being your best witness to back up your case?
Considering she said she was absolutely not going to testify to anything, not a whole lot of help backing up their case. She didn't even want to go with her sister, but realized she would be in danger otherwise so was forced to go.

I doubt it, they've gone too far trying to portray a real bond between Frank and Ray. Frank seemed genuinely pissed that Blake fed him a false name for who raped Velcoro's wife.

Pissed that Blake started playing him way back when is what I got out of that, not so much because it came back to cause friction between himself and Ray.

so why are they trying to retrieve these contracts and keep them secret if they need to be openly verified in order for them to be valid?it was a good episode, but its not enough by a long shot to save this season, that episode made me want to watch Payback again.
Because public land records would only have the company names, not the individuals behind the companies. Those contracts show who actually owns them, which evidences the corruption.

They've certainly portrayed a solid amount of respect between Frank and Ray. Until Ray found out he'd been played. Even before then it seemed that Frank cared about Ray's well-being and Ray resented Frank for being the one who sent his life into a shit spiral, even if he was lying to himself about who's fault it was.

The fact that last episode Ray said something to the effect of "I guess I'll still believe your story for now" and Frank saw the statement for what it was and told Ray to get out of the Casino certainly shows how tenuous their relationship is right now.

Not sure why there is an issue for people remembering names, only time I got confused is when people used nicknames I didnt know of on the forums.

And I dont see Ray or Frank killing one another, I did think Paul would live and Ray would die in the series. As for Burress, im confused, does he work for catalyst or was he following paul acting on his own? If he was be hind caspers death why would he want state involved. Really doesnt seem like him anymore

Didn't he book the tickets in someone elses name to begin with? I assumed he was then going to change the name on the tickets to his and his wifes at the last minute to try and mess up any paper trail if someone were to ever come looking for them. But then again I was pretty high when I watched the episode.

Yeah they can do anything with the tickets is the point. They could go all crazy and have the tickets be for two other people entirely or it was just used to show that he is getting all his ducks in a row before leaving the country.

Atleast all the people he was making deals with earlier now had a little payoff, was frustrating watching him go to every business which I thought was never going to come back up again. as for the list being double with the items he wanted, maybe hes just weird and wrote it that way because he wasnt sure what he was going to want to put in each vehicle? its not anything important

I think Frank is turning out to be a pretty good character.

If you never knew who VV was would you think he did a good job in this role?

I say yes.

Some of his dialogue has been over the top without someone like WH begging him to shut the fuck up, but VV has definitely nailed some key scenes (talking to Stan's kid, facing off with Velcoro in his kitchen, bucket list mexican stand off [ok not a key scene but I raffed]). He's much more convincing now than he was in the first half of the season.

She's the only potential witness at a time when they were still thinking to pursue the case legally (which is a fucking joke in itself, because why start now), and a drug addled hooker who says she's not going to testify because she loved her job since everything is fucking anyways.... and they're just like, shrug, okay, you're excused. I guess the safest place is you leaving, going back with the sister you hate who you've already ditched once and promising not to contact the really bad guys who want us all dead, who if you don't contact first with a really good story are probably going to find you and kill your whole family anyhow. I mean, hookers are dumb, but the only reason that scene went down like that is because they wanted to get the hooker out of the way so they could film the most boring, least anticipated love scene in the history of television.

That's the problem with the show, though. They don't do things because they're at all plausible, rational or even True-Detective-logical. They do things because there's a single scene or set piece that somebody thinks is gonna be way cool and they just throw out all logic and ignore the actual story to contrive their way into it. It was the same for the shootout and the orgy. A bunch of contrived shit because someone wanted those scenes to exist for the cool factor whether they made any fucking sense at all.

It's certainly possible that I have forgotten it but I don't recall him saying or doing anything to indicate he wanted the state involved. The state came in on it's own and he was trying to get that investigation wrapped up as quickly and neatly as possible.

The only reason to drive the body all day and drop it off was to get state involved unless its the orphans and that location has a specific meaning,

Those contracts legally show nothing. They were illegally seized and wouldn't be admissible anyway. That haven't been filed or certified. That I don't think the parties involved should care about anyhow, because they'd be public record eventually, and that's why they're all trying to do these things legally and on the up and up and letting a dirty criminal do the dirty work, like poison the land. It's not unheard of for a lot of rich people to know each other and buy in on the same/similar huge business deals. And if there is ever an investigation they just point out the criminal with no credibility is linked to the company that poison the lands and they had no clue, and by then have already benefited and the deal is done anyhow.

Of course, this is Television, so we've got a huge, implausible sex party, and random kink murders and Russian villains, etc. Which is why the detectives stealing some contracts, noting they've got signatures all over them while your partner was drugged, almost killed, killed someone, and kidnapped a girl on your illegal 'operation' was absurd, and pretending they'd go legit after all that and push a case to court is even more absurd. Should have just left the dumb shit about the contracts out and focused on the smut.

My money would be it's the orphans, whether that location has significance or not.
