Poor Paul at least he went out like a boss having slayed 4 bitches before being ambushed.

I thought VV did great this episode he managed to be kind of scary in his cold fury and just fuck it nothing to lose now attitude.

Wonder if the Mayor is going to kill his kid/get killed by his kid.

Sweet episode.

Must suck to have gone so all-in on shitting on this show for the first half of the season. Not allowed to appreciate what it's becoming with these last few episodes.

I guess Pizza was too busy making that episode great to bother with the first half. My only complaint: How the hell did Lt know gayfag was coming out of that exact spot? Seemed a little silly.

Yeah I just chalked it up to maybe he saw him through windows or something, Gay lover said they had people all over the area didnt he and did he kill the chief or just knock him out?

Maybe the team of ex soldiers told "Lt" that "this" would be an exit point in case shit happens. Who gives a shit?

The same way you have a gun on 4 guys about to kill your ass who all willingly just dropped their guns and instead of killing them you run away and kill them in far more contrived ways? The same way the female runaway who is actually not at all sympathetic to you 'saving' her is sent away with her sister despite being your best witness to back up your case? The same way you let the guy you just fucked over by ruining his entire empire continue to run your clubs and then aren't at all suspicious when an hour later he has the casino evacuated? The same way everyone constantly tells their entire motive, history and plans like they're in a Bond movie or talk about the things that everyone already knows as a means of reminding the viewer of things that happened to ensure you understand?

How did he know gay cop was coming out that exact spot? Because a lot of things in this show are a contrived crock of shit, as David Mamet would call it.

Episode was better, though, since we at least got some actual action relevant to the story. Still a huge disconnect where we get action for contrived reasons, and then opportunities for these detectives to actually detect things or have information revealed through action we instead just get long-winded explanations of everything via dialog.

Not that anyone cares since people got shot and shit and McAdams str8 grabbed a dudes dick, but the pacing and editing choices are still really fucking awkward at times.

Slow motion music video style smashing of glass was pretty radical, though.

Because shit happening out of pure happenstance isn't very satisfying, that's why.

However, overall I thought the episode was pretty effective. It does seem like most of the mystery is solved at this point and it's a matter of seeing how it's going to resolve now. The only question left really is whether the orphaned brother is someone we already know or not (assuming the orphan girl was just getting information and isn't the killer).

So if Burress is working with Catalyst why would he be birdman? maybe it is that stupid set photographer

It seems way more likely that the orphaned brother is birdman. The orphan girl was working in Casper's office and is now out in the wind.

Think that is where this is going. The rogue orphans are the only ones that have a reason to take down anyone and everyone. Only question is whether the boy is someone we know or not.

If people thought the green-ears break in season 1 was a hell of a random chance to break the case, how are people feeling about the sudden revelation that the girl in fuzzy pictures is the child orphan gone vigilante?

I guess it works because for some reason these detectives were absolutely unwilling to pay attention, connect dots, or even share the things they were learning. I'd have preferred more in-a-room-trying-to-solve-the-case over the course of the season instead of what we got in the form of a bunch of last-minute revelations like 'oh, yeah, btw these are pictures of the key players' 'oh, hey, that matches to everything I found out about the diamonds and didn't mention' 'oh, wow, my missing person intimately involved in our case is now IN OUR CAR!'

so why are they trying to retrieve these contracts and keep them secret if they need to be openly verified in order for them to be valid?it was a good episode, but its not enough by a long shot to save this season, that episode made me want to watch Payback again.

90 min eps next week, looking forward to a strong finish. Just like season one I doubt we will ever know just how far this rabbit hole goes. Seems like the entire power elite are in on this scandal.

That's a great link, thanks. I thought the episode was good but the overlying problem with the entire season will always be that there are way to many characters (not just the lead investigators) to keep track of so when they throw names out there during a conversation, you're half confused as to who the hell they are talking about.

That was a big step up from the earlier part of the season. If the first half had been more around that level or slightly below, I'd be more positive on the season overall.

Agree on the overload of characters though. You have people who have had barely any screen time or none at all who are mentioned one episode then get brought back up two episodes later and it's confusing as hell when there's half of a dozen of them. You just get to a point where you quit caring who any of them are.

Hated seeing Paul bite it though.
