I never use any recommended tab. I just use either direct links to streamers or the link for Top Channels - Twitch
I've used the top channels thing for years usually just to see events and the likes since I can't be bothered to find the individual links, but when E3 and the likes come around, the main events are usually at the top. For the past month(s) using that link usually puts up quite a few hot tub streams, which stand out compared to a thumbnail with gameplay on it.
I don't care, but a quick and easy fix would be
- Add an "adult" tag on Twitch.
---- Streamer is then responsible for tagging it when doing things like gambling, drinking, live streaming "night life" (bars and the likes), and bikinis (beaches or hot tubs). Not doing it could result in warnings/bans.
- Implement a $5 monthly charge (requires a credit card) to tag your account as 18+ (charge can be used as a sub to any streamer like a twitch prime)
- Your account needs to be tagged as an "adult" (not just the 13+ to use the service) to be able to view streams that are tagged like that.
- Add in the option to filter out channels with the adult tag

The CEO a few years ago said they wanted to move beyond just video games into the sphere of things people within video game culture are passionate about, which is why the podcast, cooking, IRL, art, etc. sections exist now. I don't think he envisioned hot tub Tuesday's with a 4/10 lewd-only onlyfans model when he said that.

So a website for 13+ year olds, (with a built in 18+ section/tag) which is 98% video games is a huge risk factor for your kids who may or may not watch it on their friends phones at school outside of your supervision and instead of looking up porn they're going to watch some girl in a bikini sit in a shitty inflatable tub or lay by a pool and read chat?

Problem with your solution is it opens the door to regulating what games you can even stream. If you start drawing a line at “adult” content, then you start down the slippery slope of regulating what games you can play because of nudity, gore, or other adult themes.

The whole point of my post was to draw parallels to the way the media, corporations and all the other influences that make up society have been manipulating people and children for many decades. No more and no less. The pants on head moment of stupidity I referred to in my original post is that apparently for you this is a new thing. I only mention this because you are so preoccupied with how many kids people have, but I have three kids. I am also older than a lot of people here, I also have four grandkids. I had to have conversations with all my kids (two girls and boy) about how porn is not reflective of real life and real world values that we in our family hold. That conversation was had many many times in many different forms but the theme was always the same. All of them started looking at porn around 10-11. I know this because I monitored their web browsing. I blocked what I could but you are never going to win that battle (you can say that last sentence was defeatist because I tried and failed). All of my kids grew up healthy and employed some of them have more successful relationships than others but that is no different from any other time in human history. All of my grandkids are healthy and where they are supposed to be developmentally. I am not having to raise any of my grand kids as their parents (my kids) aren't pieces of shit. I am pretty happy with how they all are turning out. You can take that for what it is worth.
