If I were a cynical man, I'd say the Clintons and their people are trying to maneuver Obama into acting like a dick and bomb Syria so they (and in particular Hilary) look great by comparision in 2016.

I disagree with involvement. We should continue to slow-play. Action seems only necessary if our assets get tied, which currently they're not. We are in a sequestration with too much of our local services cut, why do something so expensive without proper payout?
USA is a capitalist country. We are putting our meeples into military power. We should be using that advantage for capital gain, not loss. Want our help? pay us. Want our tanks and planes because you're too shitty or whatever to make/etc your own? pay us.
