Yeah, they tried to evacuate most of DT Calgary last night but I'm not sure how many people actually left. Had cops and military doing the door-to-door thing.
I live in Beltline/Lower Mount Royal and while all is dry-ish here for now, internet is out (gogo tethering!) and pretty much everything is closed. Boil water advisory and stuff but I mean, it isn't exactly dangerous or anything. Biggest problem is just that the sewer and drainage system can't handle the volume that just showed up in town. It'll cost hundreds of millions of dollars but everything should be fine soon enough.
EDIT: If I don't get real internet soon here though I may start looting random businesses in the area to pass the time.
I feel bad complaining it's (only) going to be in the 90's the next 7 days, but fuck, it just rained mon/tue so it's been muggy as all getout on top of the heat.
spent a half hour driving through a deluge in jersey and when i get home all the electricity was off. it stayed off for 2 hours, it finally came back on 50 minutes ago. having to eat my dinner cold and in the dark sucks ass btw. and for some reason, my laptop wont turn on. could that be from the humidity in the air?
Actual overnight temperature is -31C or -24F. With windchill it's around -40C or -40F. Kind of hurts to breathe outside right now. On the plus side, it's too cold to snow!
