People are retards. Went to a park on the lake today with a cordless chainsaw and filled up my truck with some oak deadfall. Took about an hour to get a couple days of wood.

Picking up dead wood from some woods on public land next to a lake? Don't know, don't care.Is that legal?
He's sort of right, he's just describing the process wrong. Older fireplaces create an air current flowing out of your house, so they warm up the room they're in but the rest of the house will be colder because warm air is only flowing out of the house, not into it.
isn't that illegal?People are retards. Went to a park on the lake today with a cordless chainsaw and filled up my truck with some oak deadfall. Took about an hour to get a couple days of wood.

What you are saying is that the fire place will create a convective air current that will make warm air raise and leave the house. Creating a vacuum that will be filled by the air outside the house, that will come through the crevices, and the wall.
However the air outside is the same temperature as inside the house as the air inside the houses so it doesn't get colder as the fireplace were not there.
So negative. But I do concede that if there are other sources of heat inside the house, the house will be slighter warmer than the outside world, and the draft coming in will lower it to the outside temperature.
I would absolutely buy cut and chopped wood before cutting it myself. Cutting wood is ass busting work.People are retards. Went to a park on the lake today with a cordless chainsaw and filled up my truck with some oak deadfall. Took about an hour to get a couple days of wood.

Not for me. I once had a giant tree fall across my driveway and removing it felt like killing me.But it makes you feel like a Heman! I love splitting wood. Not 5 cord at a time, but in the spring I usually chop wood every weekend for a couple months so I have enough ready for winter.
I've harvested wood my entire life, all over the place. You guys are absolute fags if you think grabbing a little bit of dead wood is a big deal. I only take stuff that's seasoned and needs to be cleared anyway. If I were felling trees and taking cords worth of wood for commercial gain then it might garner a little attention.
People that have never made hunters chicken on an open fire are missing out in life.We do hobo dinners in our fireplace sometimes. The kids think it's fun.
Who gives a fuck if the State can't provide electricity. Is that legal?
This looks like NY after Cuomo was given God-like dictatorial powers by the Assembly. Now y'all know how it feels to stand in a bread line. Glad we could share the experience with you.
Love,

You're supposed to get a firewood permit to get firewood in the 4 national forest in Texas. I worked for the US Forest Service. The office said they didn't even know where the paper work for it was and assumed everyone just took what they needed, and they did. I also don't know how someone would know. Many times it was me and one enforcement guy on the entire naitonal forest I worked on and he sayed at the work station since they had A/C.
