WTF? Fiber is supposed to be pretty much immune to weather. How does rain interrupt beams of light down sealed fiber cable? Short of one of their hubs being flooded / struck by lightning, it doesnt make sense.

NO SENSE AT ALL. We've had some fucking crazy storms here and the power would be out...throw that shit on the generator and FiOS is still up and running. Need to switch electricity over to fiber lines obviously lols

This summer has been pretty below normal. Hasnt been that hot this year. Usually we get that insane 105 to 115 degree hit for like 2 weeks, we got it for like 3 days n thats it. usually low to mid 90's. Sometimes high 90's. Im not complaining, this weather is nice. Still need rain really bad.

heh, it snowed a fucking foot in Calgary last week, and took out a fuckload of trees. This week it's back to sunny and 20-25C. Makes sense.

the joy of my city having low lying areas, get a decent (3"~5") rain in a short amount of time = "SNOW DAY" for the kids, at least 2 main roads/a few side roads are currently impassable, one of which goes to the middle school.

getting to work will be a pain since the one way street my office is on...is next to one of the roads that will be impassable so it will take an extra 10 minutes to go around the low lying area to get to my office a different way.

Shit man, it snowed a foot in Calgary a month ago and took out thousands of trees. Been pretty damn nice since, though, been around 50-70F for most of October. Looks like the honeymoon is over next week, though.
