So what is your primary goal, and how much do you weigh at the moment?I don't disagree with you entirely. Carb cycling may be optimal for muscle gain, but that's not my primary goal with lifting right now.
When I signed up with my pt last year, I told him I didn't want to get massive, just lean/ripped. The more I got into lifting, then the less it became about pure fat loss and more adding muscle.
I'm still not aiming to get huge, I think 80kg at 10% and 5,11 should suffice.
Plus there is the health benefits from adding more muscle.
My point is, I wish my training and diet had been geared towards adding muscle from the start
