Saw a dude squatting 8 plates in the gym today. Was some 300-ish lb. Polynesian guy. God damn was that impressive.
8 plates = 8 plates per side, or 765 lbs with a standard bar. You sure they were legit plates? And raw? Cause that's a squat number you don't generally see outside of a competition or with gear...or a monolift (who the fuck walks 700+ out in this day and age?).

I believe the raw record is 860 for anyone 220 lbs+ (Chris Duffin).

Edit: I'm retarded, because apparently there's a 275 and 308 weight class. Records for those are 959 and 992.

8 plates per side with 2 spotters. Then saw him do a set of 8 with 6 plates unassisted. Dude was fucking huge. Had a few people around him watching him do it.

Yeah I was doing leg presses with just 5 plates on each side, 10 total and asked him how much he could do. He told he can push 38 plates haha.

Curls for the girls!

Certainly your guesstimate for 10% do legs jives at my gym. Hell, I don't even see most of them deads much less squats.

That's me right there. I have skinny as fuck legs whether I work them or not. That's the biggest reason I can weigh 170 at 6'3 and not look like a skeleton. My legs looked almost exactly the way they do now when I was 225.

So I think I may have discovered a stabilization imbalance. I usually keep my deadlifts to a 3-5 rep range, but yesterday I decided to pyramid in a looooong time, so for a warm-up I decided to do 12 at 135, and I noticed that I pull with my left side more than my right, and I think it has to do with my left heel being more planted than my right.

Anyone ever heard or seen some shit like this? I feel retarded it took me this long to figure it out. I think this is also true for squatting/legs because my left quad is a bit bigger than my right. I'm not sure if I should do iso work to fix it, or just start over and focus on my footwork.

I have long calves and they don't ever seem to grow very much regardless of how hard I work them out.

I'd recommend just going light and working your way back up being very careful to use proper form.

Weight loss tip (and I haven't read the whole 257 pages of this thread so apologies if this has been posted a dozen times)... get yourself a heart rate monitor, meet with a trainer to find your target heart rate, and do 45 minutes of cardio at that heart rate every day. The pounds will melt off.

I rode 50 miles this weekend, did chest and back, and the p90x ab ripper x routine. I will sleep well tonight.
