Yeah, I think low carb is definitely as mainstream as it's ever been. Maybe not accepted in the medical field but definitely amongst the general population. "No carbs before marbs; (marbella) is a term popularised by idiots from a UK reality show

The math wasn't the problem. Staying on a diet when feeling tired all the time and desperately hungry was the problem.

Now, it's a reasonable argument to say that the caloric deficit was too big. But that ignores the dietary advice that most doctors and weight loss "experts" add on. Avoid fat, eat healthy complex carbs, etc. It's a recipe for failure.
That video doesn't support your point of view at all... Do people cheat on their diets? Yes. Will you lose weight if you don't cheat? Yes. Does everyone cheat on their diets? No. The more and more of a deficit that you try to use, the worse you are going to feel. I think 500 calories under my maintenance is nothing at all and I don't feel slothful or terrible. If you eat 2500 calories, when you're intending to eat 1500 calories, that's a pretty major fail, that's not even CLOSE to reaching your goal.

Dood, all of this bullshit takes various forms. This form is war on sugar/carbs. What the fuck ever. Whoever here has genuinely been addicted to something knows exactly that sinking feeling you feel when you think of a life without [x]. I love nicotine, its just not worth it. Fatties love eating 4000 calories a day of whatever catches their fancy. Its up to them to figure out that its not worth it. Every time I see or hear a comment about ("Well, what about...") I just want to backhand them. Fuck no -- its not about that, its about moderation and macro-tracking. Whether you do it intuitively or manually.

Fat fucks who keep looking for new targets are addicts looking to pass the blame or delay the inevitable. The idea of a life without gorging on 4k calories a day is terrifying.

Yea, some people quit smoking cold turkey with no issues, others fight the good fight for decades, some never do. Nicotine withdrawal fucking sucks. You notice when smokers relapse they have a fuckton of excuses? Most don't say ("I failed, I will try again.") Most say ("Well you know, I only smoke when I drink...") // ("Well, all my friends smoke so its really hard...") // ("Well, its so easy to get... it's at every gas station in front of me.").

You know what I've noticed? Fatties fucking hate it when I compare food to a drug and them to an addict. Because that makes it their responsibility, instead of societies. We should have taught little Himeo that gutbombing a large pizza and drinking garlic butter would negatively impact his health. We failed you bro.

EDIT: Just finished my 5th McDonald's breakfast sandwhich. Does this rate a nod of respect from McCheese? 1720 calories by 8:30am.

I decided to make an appointment at the U of MN to use the BodPod they have in the Rec Center to measure my body fat. They actually have a pretty good deal right now where for a group of 5 it is $50. I estimated by body fat % with calipers (22%) and visually (25 - 30%) before going. I figured I was more close to the visual estimation range.

Results

Weight: 194.91 lbs
BF%: 20% (Just happens to be whole number, rest of the group had some .XY)
Fat Mass: 38.972 lbs
Fat Free Mass: 155.938

They said that the BodPod measures within about 2% of the actual value so, overall, this turned out way better than anticipated. I plotted out my weight loss goals for the next year or so last week. This is going to force me to redo them. Assuming I lose ~5lbs of muscle while I drop the rest of this fat hitting my next goal of 170 will put me between 10-15% BF.

The BodPod promotion gives you 10 visits at the $50 rate so I am pretty sure I will go in approximately every 10 lbs just for fun.

Holy crap, my upper body is out of shape.

First day in the dragon boat. I feel like a wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube man.
