I have a really hard time with push ups/bench press, my wrists are completely screwed and can't handle the weight on them. Which is why every day is leg day for me.

Do pushups with fists, keep your wrists neutral during bench. You could even try rolling them forward a bit.

Have you tried wrist straps? My brother had to move to those for awhile because his wrists were getting really fucked up and he said they helped a lot

I have severe arthritis in my left wrist so I can't even bend my wrist properly (and it's excruciatingly painful if I try) to do regular push ups, so I've always done them on my fists, which seems to work just as well.

I broke something in my wrist back in the spring but I've been putting off getting a cast because it's racing season and didn't want to miss it. Last race is this Friday so then I'll address my wrists.

I could probably do push ups on it with my fists though since its mainly in my thumb grip that causes pain.

I was going to say you probably have bad form, but if you recently broke them, that's probably not the case. Either way, this video is good for showing you how you should setup.

The "So You Think You Can Bench Press" series is really good too, but I don't think Tate ever mentions bar placement in your palm.

This was like 158lb taken on 6-29. Im 153 now and look the same, might go to 145 lol idk
I think you look pretty lean already, I mean it's your body, do whatever you want, but I think you'd probably look better bulked up, but maybe it's your plan to do that this winter?

I used to do that and that amount of dipshits who feel the need to explain to you that you're not doing it right is irritating. Did get up to 350lbs, though

ty bro and yes I agree I would look better bulked up. I still have pretty significant love handles and a little belly at the bottom. That pic is weird it kinda looks like I might have abs or abs are starting to show but theyre def not irl idk wtf is going on with that lighting I might have to put that on tinder idk. But shits not going to go away on a bulk so gon keep grinding I guessss. 151 today. I need to stop eating 300 calories of m&ms a day

I still weigh 185, but I'm noticeably leaner and stronger than I was 2 months ago. With the results I'm getting, not changing anything for now.

For example, can do 6 sets of 8 pull-ups now on back day, and bench is a 45 and a 25 and a 10 on each side on a bar, and 70's on dumbbells. Feeling good.

Awesome work. You're getting into strong guy territory. Have two tips for you though:

1. Just use a 35 instead of a 25 and a 10
2. Call it 205. Describing anything 185 or higher by the weights on the bar is like telling someone your child's name in months when they're 5 years old. Only exception is if you're lifting only 45s. In that case you refer to the 45s as "plates" and just the number on one side. So "2 plates" = 225, "3 plates" = 315, etc.

Also, start saying bro alot

I was gonna say, I've been to several gyms that don't hold 35's. Pretty superfluous weight, honestly.

Guys, wwhwprwkngvy is right on target. You cannot begin to improve your body until you decide to love and value yourself. Don't ever forget, life is alive and if you don't value you, you must take care of yourself.

Every gym I've ever been to has had 35's. They're pretty useless but look cooler than a 25+10.

Squatted up to 185 on my second week back, so feels good. Our weight room is packed to the rafters with bros every night, but the squat rack is always empty so I love it.

NO ONE DOES LEG DAY!!! Hasn't changed in the past 6 years since I've stopped lifting. Even the biggest dudes there have chicken legs. Only shitty thing about my gym is you have to do deadlifts at like 1AM or the staff gets all pissy.

I'm not doing a cut or a bulk, just changing my diet to a healthy one with no soda, fast food, etc. Might be counter-productive, but so far I've lost 5 pounds.

I do a lot of speed work and footwork with legs, plyometrics and sprints. Also do lunges/squats holding 40-50lb dumbbells and kettle bell throws to develop explosive leg power. I have a long sports history so I already have powerful quads and glutes, and I fear injury so I don't do heavy squats or dead lifts. I know these are effective exercises, I just feel like I don't need what they have to give right now. If I start to put on mass in my upper body and it starts to look unbalanced I'll have to start doing more legs. So far I'm still very skinny!

Haven't seen a 35 lb plate at a single LA Fitness in Dallas. No rubber weights for deadlift/power clean either.
