Oh come on Cad, you don't need a power rack for your squats.

I'd like to have a home gym one day. Maybe. I feel like it could go either way, and become a fucking sanctuary where I can blast Opeth and watch the pain peel from the walls, or i'll just become a lazy fuck and never workout.

My friends/family all own like 1/5th of what they'd need for a decent home gym -- they do their 15 min of elliptical or random-throughout-the-week 30lb barbell curl inbetween LoL matches. No gains is attributed to age/genetics.

It's cyclical, too. Every few months someone hits me up with the "going to get in shape, bro" message. Followed by their plan which is some variation of "10 pushups, 10 crunches, 10 min cardio" routine. Any critique from me is met with a "Whoa whoa whoa, hold on, I'm just starting and need to take it easy!".

I've since learned. Now I just say "cool man!"

If the commitment to getting healthy or developing a physique isn't enough for a gym membership, then I'm highly skeptical it's enough to actually accomplish whatever goal was intended. If the will is there then you really don't need much; it's just way fucking easier to eat a lot of food and do a 5x5 program. Determined poor or frugal people get awesome physiques through bodyweight exercises or ghetto stuff like "carry this heavy shit on your property around; run up that hill carrying these chains." People without determination won't get anything done regardless.

Having a set up in my garage is the best thing I ever did. There has been plenty of times over the last 10 years it didn't see use but it's always been there, mocking me.

Personal gyms should come with mandatory social media uplink that tells everyone you're a little bitch when you don't use the machine. Not saying you are, kek, but I would find such a product amusing.

No personal gym but I have a stationary bike set up so I can look at my monitor.
Three days in the week I get up at 5am instead of 6am and watch some tv series on amazon prime while I do my thing. Then at 6am I shower and get ready for work.
Once a week I go to the bouldering gym.

You just have to build a routine around it and it's no big deal. Sure the first two weeks it sucked getting up at 5am but you get used to it.

Now I need to McTuco my keyboard and trackball to the bike so I can play WoW while I bike.

For some reason I can work at home and be perfectly fine but my workout at home attempts have failed miserably.

I wish I had a basement to move my heavy bag and benchpress from my parent's house to my place. I used that thing all the time and they refuse to put in a heavy bag at my office gym! I got my start into lifting off just a benchpress and dumb bells. They also have one of those metal beams in the basement that I could do chin ups on. I later added the heavy bag and that is one of the best hybrid cardio and muscle exercises out there for upper body.

Its funny because when I was 16 or so my brother asked if I wanted to go halvsies on a benchpress with him. Since I worked a $5.50/hr job the prospect of dropping $60 on something I may never use didn't sit well so I declined. Then when I turned 18 I was the only person who actually used the thing. He still took it when he moved out and proceeded to never use it so I had to buy a new one for myself

30 sounds right because I'm 32 and started at 5.5$ an hour too
Edit: and I still have stuff in my parents' place

Just found this site today. Seems like a pretty good tracker. Leverages lots of standard measurements via tape / skin fold and inputs them into a variety of formulas all at once. Gives a nice snapshot and report base. Not sure if it will make it into regular use for me, but I like to try random things to compare. The measurements that it asks for seem pretty comprehensive so at least if you populate everything you shouldn't be missing any numbers. Their accuracy on the other hand is still based on the user.

Eh, I can see where that be useful for professionals, but for us mere casuals, can't beat the simplicity of a site like body what that just does it all for you automatically "for fun".

I signed and recorded my measurements after he posted the link. I also gave bodywhat a go after someone (you?) posted it here. Fitmatic was infinitely more interesting and easier to use than body what, body what was laughably bad lol. Although my daily use is still hackers diet online

A couple weeks of prohormes (alpha 1 max and 4 andro) down, it's pretty crazy the amount of change in such a short amount of time. Worth the money? I'm not sure if I'd purchase again, but they do "work as advertised" couple weeks of pct then a couple weeks off before I do it again with 1 andro and epi-andro
