Well, my blood work came out pretty amazing other than my cholesterol, but even that's not really that bad. Hopefully once I hit 220 and start working out again the HDL will go up.

Wife and I started DDP Yoga (got an early xmas gift from a buddy so fuck it let's start it). 19 days in and she has lost 5 pounds and I am down 2.5. 3 times a week and just changed our eating habits slightly. Not bad I say.

I don't think I can do that lol. Powerlifting does not help you with flexibility. I should work on that.

yeah I've had DDP Yoga for years, there's no doubt it would be hugely beneficial for flexibility, it's just making it a habit on top of gym 4 x a week.

Gilg--I'm picking up about where you're at now. How have you done it, sir?

I've been making better choices with food, slightly (more portion control than what I eat) and working out for about a month--I want to continue my current happy trend downwards..As a fellow bigass 'mofo, what have you found helps you the most?

Also, checking in at 315 on 1/10/17. I want that to be 215 on 1/10/18

Track calories every damn day, every damn bite. That's the king.

I wouldn't do PSMF, that's way worse than anything I did. If it works that's great, but I think that's going to cause some serious health issues down the line. Even though I was very low calorie/carb and have steady built up as I've been losing (Starting at 800-1000 cal a day with 20-30 carbs, now 1600-1800 cal a day with 50-70 carbs - yes, increasing as I've been losing), I've actually managed to lose almost the exact weight as gilg in the same timeframe (I've lost 77 lbs since Jul 17.) I've not done any exercise other than walking around the neighborhood 2-3 times a week (About a mile a day) in a completely casual, slow pace.

I'm 13lbs from my goal and currently 21.6% body fat, down from a high of 32.2%.

Oh, and no flaps. Thank god.

Great work dudes. And remember its all about that diet, exercise is all good for you and shit, but its the diet that makes you lose the weight. You cant exercise your way from eating like shit.

Exercise will get more important as you get closer to a healthy BMI because your deficit won't be so comically large. But yea... even then, it's 90% diet...

Exercise is also a lot more fun when you get closer to a healthy BMI, because you can do so much more stuff.

.

I gave you shit in the beginning for starving yourself. But at least I didn't have to put you on ignore like the idiot that is still starving himself.

No jokes, being at just over 20% body fat is a decent number to have reached.

Do you see yourself aiming lower and getting "ripped"?

I'd like to but I'm taking it one step at a time. I'm going to be working out at a gym after I hit my 20% number and I'd love to put on more muscle, but I'm not necessarily interested in being "ripped" lol.

Any pointers on what to do once I start hitting the gym (most likely by mid-Feb) would be appreciated. Bear in mind I've not worked out in.. like 6-7 months so intense stuff at the start probably will murder me.

I'm not gonna diss Gilg, losing weight is always a good thing, but man, I think you're making some sacrifices that aren't making a difference in your weight. But if its working for you, shrug, it's working for you.

I noticed that just after 20-30 pounds lost. Going upstairs to my home theater room is a breeze, even 3-4 times nps after just 20lb lost. Before I'd be winded by the time I made it to the top if I had to do it twice.

I mean, weight makes a huge difference in stuff like that. I carry my kids up the stairs sometimes just for fun and it's very difficult, granted the middle one weighs 100lbs now... but I can just run up the stairs 2 at a time and not even be slightly breathing hard at the top.. but with my kid on my back, it's taxing. To think thats how hard it is for some people to walk up the stairs every time....

On the one hand, respect. Thats a difficult life. On the other hand, god damn it lose weight.

Yeah you dont realize how much weight you're carrying until you lose 80lbs and then go carry two 40lb bags of mulch on your back. It's like "holy fuck really?"

Fucking sucks. Said it 100 times in this thread, but never again. Fuck being fat.
