Fucking late 1800's non-accurate rifle fire with zero cannons across a wide field...... Here come the unprotected heads and close range small caliber SMGs!
Late 1800's rifles were fairly accurate. Particularly at the ranges this was taking place in.

I really think you're letting facts get in the way of my feelings about this episode.

So does the dynamite not hurt humans pre-season 1 finale or was there always deadly, dangerous explosives available to the hosts?

Nitro was a plot point with young Billy/Logan and the Confederados in season 1.

That woman from india world reminded me of Theresa. The way she held and smoked her cigarette seemed identical.

I thought the same thing. At first I figured it was a flashback to younger her, but it obviously happened at the same time as the WW rebellion. Maybe her daughter?

i could be wrong, i do concede the possibility, but i feel fairly confident that last night's episode was the cleanest presented timeline of the season so far. unless some serious misdirection is going on, last night the only anachronistic scene was Bernard with the head of security that led into his flashback... at which point everything else in the episode was during the first day of the rebellion.

probably.

Clearly a teresa bot who thinks she real, who is on an island in purgatory of the mind of Bernard

Theresa had an accent this woman does not.

i had the same thought, but they tried to play down her accent to the point where idk if they intended it as part of the character. her voice always bothered me, but discussing it with RL friends many of them didn't even notice her accent until i pointed it out.

but that only matters if the tigers incident wasn't contemporaneous with the robot rebellion like it appears to be at the moment.

I have a strong feeling the writers are going to lose control of the story this season from too much sniffing of their own farts and this is going to become a meme / joke of a show, kinda like walking dead. I hope not, but my optimism is waning.

This was one of the issues they had with the first season. They either wrote themselves into a hole or had such huge script problems they shut down production for 6 months (don't remember if they brought in Christopher Nolan to help) while they retooled the script. In many ways it's very much like the Quentin Tarantino school of film making - nonlinear storytelling.

Have no idea if they had any issues with their farts though...

When Bernard was asked about abernathy and screen flashed black a few times -- did he go into a flashback or was that current storyline?

The whole bit was confusing. He was surrounded with a security team and then poof, him and corp chick -- yet she asked him about abernathy yet she was in that timeline so...why ask?

6/10 episode. Fort thing was stupid to extreme measures.

When he is with the security team and sees Charlotte, it then skips over to earlier in time.

They were together in that secret lab in the last episode and in this episode they went to track Abernathy. That went awry (the whole scene with the Trevor actor) and Charlotte bailed, and that's when they became separated. Given the dire straits, it makes sense that she was surprised he survived later in the timeline.

From her escape, she goes back to the main building (or some branch of it, at least) to find the security crew that is about to try a sweep of the park. She tags along and gets the one crew to sneak in and get Abernathy (I'm guessing she was still able to track him). She never knows Bernard is also in the fort and the security team that stealths in doesn't care about him because he doesn't pose a threat and isn't the objective.

And to close the loop, the reason that second team is even there is presumably because Charlotte secured Abernathy.

Yeah, a lot of convolution and for no payout yet. On the plus side, I'm not sure there's any big gaps to fill in on the Charlotte/Bernard storyline, unless Bernard hitches up with Delores for a while. If next episode brings MiB and Delores to present time, maybe the fifth episode will drop the charade. But that's probably wishing thinking.

I agree, but upon a second watch the 1st season goes from good to great. I think you can get away with it once but if you try to do the same magic trick twice in a row... well you know.

We'll see though, i'll finish this season and watch it again in a few months before rendering a final verdict (unless this season ends up being bumfuck retarded, which isn't out of the realm). Definitely loses points out the gate for lack of cleverness though.

fyi this whole season is ford's Wyatt narrative, and we don't know who the guest players are (if there are any at all).

My theory on Abernathy....

He has two massive databases in his head.
  • The blackmail data/video on previous guests
  • A DNS database of collected genomes from guests
This leads to both controlling people, and being able to replicate skins for hosts that would pass DNA scans (which I think Bernard was the beta test of...) for the people they couldn't control.... So they replace them.

I know they're in love with the mixing timelines and jumping around crap, but it's just getting annoying keeping track of Bernard in three timelines now...

I'm starting to come around to this idea only because it would, amazingly, make things less convoluted than if this isn't the case.
