Not sure if you're talking to me. There are some other considerations. So the only reason you wouldn't take the job is because the commute is "a little worse"?
Tough to say, 90k would be a 15% increase which is what I was after. On top of that is 10% bonuses and $20k in company stock, unlimited time off (Lol), company isn't being sold right now, etc.5k would make it worth it? Doesn't seem like it to me.
Parts of it being over your head is perfect, thats how you learn, dumbass. Not sure if you're talking to me. There are some other considerations.
Parking isn't free, and while it's only $200/month it isn't negligible. There's loss of family time, I'm a little worried parts of the job might be above my head, and the benefits are a little worse. At 85k it's not exactly worth it for me compared to what I make now. I'm hoping they'll at least accept 90 or a little more but I'm not sure.
It's not a bad deal, jus t not exactly what I hoped for.
Also it might be a dream job.
If they are offering 85k and you counter at 90k is it even worth countering is what I mean. You wanna play "hard ball" over 5k? which is more like 3.5k after taxes in that income bracket.Tough to say, 90k would be a 15% increase which is what I was after. I have a certificate from Cisco that says I can sorta hook things together like routers and switches and make them talk to each other.Just curious...what type of positions are you applying for with no experience and no degree? Not shitting on you or anything, I'm honestly curious. I wouldn't mind changing careers into that direction but I'm in the same boat. I have a lot of self-taught knowledge but no formal degree or experience.
Keep plugging away man, once you get your foot in the door you're set. How long have you been applying to positions?I have a certificate from Cisco that says I can sorta hook things together like routers and switches and make them talk to each other.
The certificate combined with an under grad degree in literally anything would help me a lot right now, but alas I was dumb straight outta high school.
FTFYAs much as I despise it, 40k a year and all the overtime you want is a heck of a lot better than being unemployed when you need money as desperately as my mom, floodsy, does. And odds are most places are better than here.
