I'll admit I was a lazy college student, but I got the impression that the amount of people getting degrees far outstrips available internships in their industry. Even if you filter out people that can bullshit a 4 year degree program but can't cut it in the work force. Even location of colleges vs industry make getting a summer internship quite challenging/impossible.BINGO. Junior developers with no prior experience are useless. I don't want to be paying you a full salary to learn what you should at an internship.
The world has changed. People need to accept this.
Pretty sure ever Entry Level Developer I've seen hired at the last few companies has been an internship conversion.
It's an understandable preference, but it shouldn't be a requirement.
