Apparently, indoor Kart racing. It was part of a groupon for my niece's 11th birthday. She's tall enough for the adult carts and got to ride in the same heats so that made it fun. You start with neutered carts where you just floor the gas and steer but we all qualified for a bump in speed + a free race. And yeah, then the fun starts. The sliding for failing to brake and corner well was fierce punishment. They downgrade your cart if you smack into walls. And being a noob I could only make guesses at how much I could push it and make sad faces when I'd do a Bowser shame slide.

But the main thing that tickled my pickle was lapping the field after they'd hold me up with their shitty cornering until they'd spin out like:

Tonight my wife and I were arguing over some tax shit. I told her that the whole, 'get a raise and bring home less money' thing was a myth. She disagreed and thought she had proof with her paystubbs, which were in my back pocket. Or as she said, "Pull those paystubbs out of your ass ... pocket and you'll see". Long story short, I showed her what she was misunderstanding and then I realized, Holy shit, I just literally won an argument with numbers I pulled out of my ass (pocket)! A feat often attempted on the internet, but rarely completed.

Wasn't necessary. Paper is appx .1mm thick, even with 3 pages, folded in thirds and then folded in half again, it's less than the difference in widths between my typical back pocket loadouts (which is .3cm). So all I had to do was put them all in the slightly less loaded pocket.

On top of stack of papers was a stick-it note. The person I was talking to peeled it off and tossed it at the adjacent trashcan without looking. But I saw. It flew like a frisbee with the gentle rotation of a snowflake .. then stuck to the wall.

Today I had really excellent tofu at a local restaurant. My wife prefers tofu to meat most of the time, but I rarely cook it well. Since it was slow I asked the waitress how it was prepared, and 5 minutes later she came back and said the chef would show me. He walked me through how to dry cheap tofu out, bake it a little before to get it firm, and then how he pan fries it without it going to shit. I like learning useful things from people who are enthusiastic and good at their jobs.

Going to see the local ECHL team play is more fun than watching the NHL on TV. I've taken non hockey fans to games and they enjoy this shit out of it despite not understanding what's going on.

Found out my old college roomate makes regular appearances on a TV show now about TX game wardens. Mom asked me last night what his last name was. I told her and she goes I thought it was him, boy he's country. He was the kind of guy that cold sell ice to eskimos and was very "country" even tho he came from the burbs of Dallas. He has a pot belly now tho. He had an auctioneers license while in college and could really do the deal.

I remember he had a pic of him and some mallards and some of us were looking at them. That's when pics put the date in the lower right. They were dated March. It takes an outlaw to catch an outlaw is the old saying. Math in forestry/wildlife management with statistics and such turned out to be too much and he got a degree in criminal justice which is now required for game wardens.

Randolph McGee. We sure downed a lot of beer playing pool at the pool table he bought from someone for $10 and then had them put it together in our house lol. I bet that house still has a big round hole in a doorway frame where he shot it with his bow while trying to shoot down the hall, thru the back door, and across the back yard.

Playing hockey tonight I deflected a wicked hard slap shot from the blue line in over the blocker of the net minder. Heavy traffic in front of the net. It's so bloody satisfying when that works.
