I like it. Built in vacuum sealer, George Foreman grills in the dash, Comfort Beam™ interior, built in hamburger grill in the back. This car is for the Mobile Yet Hungry™ demographic.

I'm going to be contrarian (I know, shocker), but I think this is actually a good direction for Jaguar.

Their diversity ad was AIDS, but if that is truly the car, then the concept is fine. It stands out in a crowded field. Just like the Cybertruck, people are going to love it or hate it.

Truth be told, Jaguar - the brand - was headed for insolvency anyways, so they needed to do something drastic. Their previous strategy obviously wasn't working, and they were headed towards dissolution, so why not try a make it or break it strategy.

It probably won't be enough to save the brand, but their previous trajectory was negative anyways. To put it in perspective, the Cybertuck sold about 4x more vehicles than Jaguar did in the US the past few years. If this new car can sell even 1/2 of Cybertruck numbers in the US, it would still be double their current volume.

In non fag colors, I'm ok with the radical different looking car, agreed, though even being EV wouldn't have been for me. Plenty of room to have gone pure big dick energy and put a big V12 or something crazier.
I'm just shocked it's not some form of Suv/cuv as that's what is such a huge portion of the market. Even Porsche, for every GT3RS etc that gets sold, they are selling a half dozen Cayennes.

More like 25-30 to 1, but your point is completely valid.
Didnt want to overpromise without real stats in front of me, but yeah...

I still guilty pleasure want to get an older one and do that fad of mild lift and semi offroad tires.

Wont do it, but would be kinda funny

The SUV market is over saturated, there is almost no way for them to achieve market penetrance with a SUV when every other company has one.

People don't buy Cayennes because they are the best SUVs out there, they buy them because they are a Porsche.

Until/unless Jaguar can restore their brand, no one is buying a Jag SUV with so many other options out there.

Maybe in the distant future if it becomes cool to own a Jag again, then they can consider expanding their lineup to include a SUV.

Their main priority right now is to bring people back to the brand and differentiate themselves from the crowd. Time will tell if their current strategy will work or not.

Also you can see the production version has 4 doors and the roof line is likely ruined like the panamera first Gen was because of the back seat

I believe their plans are for 2 door, 4 door, and SUV on the same platform.

You know, I imagined that car makers would learn some things from the cybertruck. I didn't think these would be the things though.

Those designs would have originated a couple years ago, or more, and been green-lit before the cyber truck came out.

there will be some sold as novelties, but likely major flops.
