this is common - extractions and root canals etc. are surgery and will be done by a DDM? not a DDS? or something like that. As stated above, you go - they say its 2 big of a hole/gap/chip/crack to "bond" (aka typical filling) and to be sure that there is no infection or chance of infection of the crown that is needed they want you to get a root canal, then come back and get the temp crown, then permanent.

I chipped by 2nd (was 3rd from, till wisdom removal) from back tooth, haven't gone in to even have them look at it, because I do not want a crown, I do not want a root canal - I just want them to bond the fucking thing and once it needs to be extracted to extract it... and no its not do damn deep to bond, it has NO increased hot/cold sensitivity etc. - I know what a deep chip is from when my one damn wisdom tooth that was not straight came in and impacted and cracked itself open - fun.

Everyone I know personally that has gotten a root canal for the crown it has gotten infected, and not just a normal infection - but a DEEP one that you do not notice for a while and it gets bad (wife included in this fuckery exp) - while if you just got a crown popped in with no root canal - if it DOES get infected it is not as deep and it is detected earlier.

This shit rustles me so bad... Dentists are the fucking WORST doctors for literally up-selling you bullshit.

Some dentists probably also happen to be oral surgeons or whatever and can thus do both/everything. I know the one place I went down in Florida when I had to get a cracked tooth pulled they did everything and anything you needed right there.

Buddy of mine chipped his tooth while we were on vacation in Peru. He walked into a dentist in Cusco, they took him as a walk in that day and charged 80$ US cash on the barrel-head. Looks as good as new, meaning you can't tell with naked eye. Fuck the US shit.

Old co worker has 2 teeth that would be full crowns completely remade with filling / bonding in the Philippines while in the service - he had them for 20+ years with no problem until he back back stateside and had some other work done and the doc would not do anything without "fixing" those teeth with proper crowns - there was no need to replace them in reality.

I have a dentist here in FL, he pretty much said my tooth needed a crown, but since it didn't hurt, he would just do large fillings in it. Been fine for 2 years so far, the tooth is basically fillings at this point.

I have terrible teeth. Comes from having low blood sugar at 2am or whatever in deep sleep time and getting up and drinking/eating something sweet and going back to bed and not brushing my teeth till the next morning. I'd had some "odd" dentist thru the years. My first dentist went to the state pen for counterfeiting. He's now the state dentist at Angola state pen. Rough life for a former heisman trophy winner lol.

Used to be in TX (not sure if you still can) you could drivers education for a speeding ticket once every 2 years or something and have it taken off your record. I always got the comedy one and would sit and sleep thru it for 4 hours and be done with it. I've gotten my fair share of tickets and never had one stick for various reasons. One was thrown out becuae the judge said the speed limit there was too low, cop didn't show up at another which used to be a good way to get out of them but I think they changed it. You could call the police department and ask if soandso was on duty that day or would they be coming in for a sit down talk and if they said "nope it's his day off" you know to contest it. The closest I ever got to getting one fixed was I got one and I mentioned it to my neighbor who got a ticket in the same spot that day, my dad got on there as well on the same day. He said he had it all handled and took down the info on the ticket. Turns out the officer giving out the tickets, his wife worked for my neighbor and apparently people like to keep their job. Mine and dad's disappeared thru some paperwork snafu.

The reason I came here to begin with..apparenty some companies can't read the calendar. Software updating to soandso product 2018 already. Getting worse than cars. At this rate product 2019 is going to come out in December 2017.

Mistakenly told girlfriend that range day with the guys fell through today. "So what are your plans?" Why does any gap in activities have to be filled with others? I feel like "Whiskey and coke and video games until I fall asleep on the couch?" Isn't the answer she's hunting for.
