The idea of them patrolling neighborhoods ticketing people for things that have no effect on anything is what's upsetting.Welcome to a commonly known traffic code like fucking everywhere? Maybe in some states it isn't a thing but places I've been it's kinda a big deal to park "against traffic". And that includes even tight narrow Denver streets that are so skinny you get 2 lanes of parked cars and basically only enough for 2 way traffic if both sides creep pretty slow to avoid hitting anything.
I sympathize about in front of your own drive way. My parent in laws have same dillema especially since on the narrow front face of the house there's a fire hydrant right past the drive way eliminating another spot basically. But gotta realize, giant pita if nothing else for them to even begin to attempt to figure out who's a resident vs not of a home. Though /tinfoil would be they also don't want more barriers if they need to SWAT the house and ram a bear cat in the garage door or something lol.

Upsetting is cop response, "People shouldn't have a problem with doing what they're supposed to do."
Supposed to do. It's being micromanaged. It's intrusion. It's needlessly burdensome and uncomfortable.
Convenience=liberty, ie: life, liberty, pursuit of happiness
But foreel, what's the issue?
How does parking this way increase any danger/risk?
Preventing head on collisions makes sense, but still, residential vs. business should be considered. It prevents head-on collisions from people pulling out from parking and not paying attention to oncoming traffic. It also looks neater? I've been given warnings about parking against the right of way when I was roofing, and didn't want to back up my trailer in someones driveway just to be parked the right way.
In order to park the wrong direction, you have to drive on the wrong side of the street, however briefly, correct? Then, if it is a tight spot, you might have to do some parallel parking or other back-and-forthing. And if you're female, that could take 20 minutes. (I kid!) Regardless, you're technically driving into incoming traffic in order to park there. And you're doing the same thing when you leave. Yes, I know it might be a practically deserted street and it is so wide open that no one cares, but if you get to do it, then the people in busier sections of town want to do it too, and eventually you end up with people cutting across traffic to grab a spot, even in a residential area. The idea of them patrolling neighborhoods ticketing people for things that have no effect on anything is what's upsetting.

You know you can file against that on exactly that premise. Get the collections and negative reports against your credit wiped. And since it's in collections, you can likely get away with paying much less than you originally owed. Sucks, but it could be a win-win, minus the effort involved.Fucking doctor sent my bill to the wrong address the past year and now apparently it's in fucking collections. Fucks sake. Fucking jews man. My credit score has been fucking impeccable too.
