My 24yo son moved back in with me. He thinks he should pay nothing since he's my son. I told him 750 for everything. Meals, bills etc.

Is this too much for a kid that takes home 1k a week?

That is way more than fair. It's less than 25% of his income, and I'm willing to bet his meals are cooked for him. As an exercise, have him do a search to see what kind of place he can get for $500. The additional $250 is food, utilities, and the like. He'll be pretty shocked. And thinking he can just move home and live for free is not the actions of a 24 year old man.

Whenever my kids are home and working (summers right now) they pay (very little. $300/month). I have an account for each of them. All of their "rent" money goes into it, and when they get to a point where they're going to buy their own place, they get it all back. I started charging rent once they were 18 and had a job. By the time they are at a point where they're looking to buy, there will probably be around $5K in their account, and they will get it all as a bonus when they buy a place. Imagine how nice it would have been when you bought a house to get $5K in cash.

Amazon prime has a scanner bar (whatever the fuck it is called) on their commercials so if you scan with your phone it will add it to your Prime cart.

Amazon prime now doing commercials mid-movie, instead of just the beginning. Fucking cunts

I run an old gaming PC on my big screen, and if you watch Prime Video on, say, Firefox + uBlock Origin, you get zero ads.

When I get handoffs to do tasks at work, I've only ever asked for and needed one thing: just ping me in the relevant Slack channel and boom, it'll get done. So I get my ping, ping tells me to go read an email (which I don't even need to do because the ping already tells me exactly what I need to do), I acknowledge the ping, and still get another email responding to the email that they told me to read asking if I can do the thing in the email. Yes, you fucking twat, and I'd already be fucking working on it if you weren't spamming me with shit you want me to read receipt in three different fucking places. I have fucking eyes and I can fucking read.

If it helps to temper the rage a bit, just imagine how many times your colleagues did their three confirmations and still didn't do the task. As much as I hate this type of thing, people don't get trained into that behavior in a vacuum.

The worst was when that team first took over. So once I finished my tasks, I did my usual shit where I go to the project specific channel in Slack and ping the relevant people and say shits ready. Well no, they can’t go off that. They are incapable of doing anything until they get an email. So I sent the relevant person an email. Wasn’t good enough either as I didn’t also include some other mailing list. At this point they know my shit is done, they know it’s ready, but they are literally begging me in both email and Slack to just please send the correct email so they can work on the project and that the deadline now rests on me sending that fucking email. Fucks sake, they probably can’t get dressed in the morning without a fucking handoff email.

I live across the US from what is left of my family. Because of distance + stupid weather we get our Xmas shopping for them out of the way. I sent a package to them via USPS. Today is when it was supposed to be delivered. It's in Memphis TN. They live in NC , there is 0% chance it's getting delivered today. I paid $120.00 to send it.
