I would argue that Amazon dumbs it down as a show down between:

Shadar Logoth vs Dark One - Shadar wins, Taint is gone, the end.
It sorta was, as Mashadar was the thing in Shadar Logoth that Rand funneled Saidin into. I just thought it was stupid to think that the Taint was some type of finite substance within the infinite amount of Saidin. Having the Seals be the cause the of the Taint due to be "connected" to the Bore made more sense.

and part of the journey is going to be in discovering some of the weave's that have been lost, which includes shit like portal's for teleportation.

I'm more partial to portals for blendering armies

I can only imagine the budget it would cost to accurately depict Rand at Maradon but the idea of seeing him opening up a dozen death portals while firing lava and dropping ice shards would be epic.

There's also that asha'man Androl who rediscovers the talent of opening portals into places he's not seen before. Hilarity ensues, such as when he opens a portal under a group of Darkfriends and the other end far up in the sky, or he opens a portal above a trolloc army directly into the depths of Dragonmount and dumps a river of lava on the charging shadowspawn.

Shit like Blossoms of fire (10 foot columns of flame) that suddenly bloom to 30 feet of spinning fiery death?

Have a field of them? Oh yeah.

Can't forgot arrows of fire - 100's of fine threads of fire from the hands that instantly vaporize stuff in front of you?

Gotta remember the AoL Aes Sedai didn't even need to do all the hand/body movements like the current aei sedai. They were so skilled they could just stand still and fling death at you.

I hate to do this to you.

40k is Amazon, so expect that shit to be as woke as they can force Cavil to be. Games Workshop wants to be woke so badly it hurts, they just know it will kill their entire company. Them teaming with Amazon is an attempt to pass the woke-buck onto the company with more money than God in an attempt to change their core audience.

If you think Netflix is a good steward of fantasy then look no further than how they did exactly what I WoT did with the Witcher. Hell, they are the blueprint to your non-fleshed out history wish since they did a few pre-book Witcher series that were diverse, girl boss filled, and fucking awful.

Games Workshop didn't sign the agreement with Amazon for the series until the last day it was due. This wasn't some amicable partnership, or it would have been signed weeks before the due date.

They've reluctantly agreed to let Amazon make a 40k show.

This show is getting better, but damn they did not need to add a fag flashback.

Love the Aiel shit, savage sand gingers who forgot to carry the 1.

I tried watching the first episode yesterday and turned it off 30 mins in. I honestly barely remember the story and th characters, as it has been 20+ years since I read them.

My Wife (never read the books)kinda wants to watch the series. Is it worth our time?

Wife and I enjoy it for the most part, but she also loves Rosamond Pike and epic stories as she watches lord of the rings on the regular.

This reminded me of skimming. Wonder how they’ll fuck that up. Could potentially be a really cool visual.

What the hell was the weaving called that just erased someone something out of the wheel, and I think it had some sort of crazy Butterfly effect. ?

Balefire ? Sorry I haven't read the books in eons, and never finished the series. I think the last one I read was the Crossroads of Twilight.

The first season is a bit boring. The show has plenty of "The Message" written into it. The second season is when things pick up and get a lot more interesting. The character development and pacing also are a bit more refined in the second season. The third season has so far been even better with the last episode finally showing something of what I imagine the book fans had been waiting on. Yes it did the 20 second clip of "The Message" but otherwise it was great.

It was so well done that I am concerned that the show goes downhill for the rest of the season from here.
