For those that have played, is your impression Vanilla WoW like most here assumed? Imo Vanilla WoW didnt beat you over the head with a directed leveling experience and you had to travel quite a bit for some of them. Again Cataclysm felt pretty bad and restricted by comparison (both to old WoW and the more open GW2 leveling). You couldnt even do anything in some zones if werent following the quests to the letter.

The humor, while good, becomes rather stale and predictable. GW2 smokes it in terms of leveling and combat, but I'd say group play is better in WS.

Calling it good publicity is questionable. I think they should have went with someone who isn't terrible at gaming (Towellie's own admission). Amusing? Yeah, because he's an idiot.

They lifted the press embargo and allowed certain streamers to stream the 1-15 game. There may or may not be a post about it in beta forums that may or may not exist if you want more details.

I understand what they're trying to achieve and have no problem with it however it's a little sad just how much horrible misinformation goes on about this game. A lot of the negative feedback just can't be refuted without breaking NDA by going into specifics which hampers a lot of potential discussion that could take place about the actual problems that the game has. I mean, in the last 10 pages or so, we've seen shit like "the draw distance in this game blows!", "there's very little sci fi" and other great tells that the poster either hasn't played or only played during a stress test that was designed to crash the servers. The problem is you'd have to have actually played the game to understand which posters are full of shit and which are bringing valid concerns to the table.

I love shit like this dude above saying posters are spreading 'misinformation' such as 'the draw distance blows'.

You have two people very cordially discussing an issue they were both experiencing, with no exaggeration at all.

Trust me, the only reason I don't break the fuck out of the NDA for this extremely average MMO, with its spammy combat, calculated quest-grind leveling, and mediocre world design, is out of respect for Draegan and the staff here.

How about specific CC mechanics that require you to actually spam your keyboard as fast as possible? Among others, of course.

*edit* not gonna respond to any more specific questions, due to Rerolled rules regarding NDAs. I certainly couldnt care less about my beta access, because I wouldn't even play this for free.

A previous post mentioned that this is going to be an end game heavy MMO, and lets hope they are right. If the 40 man stuff is as good as the devs are saying, it could make up for the rest of the experience.

Just watch some of the streams and you can see the draw distance thing is a user problem and not a game one. As for spammy combat, we got some people here who want 9 second cast times on everything and a 10 min global cooldown. They say that shit about every fucking game. This is the same group that cries about not wanting to get carpel tunnel yet hates Teamspeak and wants to fucking type everything.

I don't want to have to wait for fucking cooldowns. I want to have to use my abilities when it makes sense to use them. Not just when they are available.

I want to have to think during combat... Not do things from memory.

Because they decided instead of just getting CC'd and sitting there doing nothing, you can actively break it if you want too or go search for your weapon instead of usual disarm, having a actual blind(very hard to see) instead of just a stat decrease etc.

I don't buy that from a former EQ player. Every fucking button I had in EQ had a macro. Just watch the streams, those who pay more attention get out of CC faster.

I actually really like some of the other CC mechanics.

But SPAM F FAST is a special kind of retarded.
