It's more arcade style combat and, granted, your button presses per minute are gonna be way higher than in some mmo's. The method is different (specifically: better) but on a direct button press to button press comparison -- the game doesn't feel any more spammy than Rift.

But I mean what the fuck. What else is anyone supposed to do? These are games where you PRESS BUTTONS. If you haven't noticed there are probably some major swings still coming down the pipe in gamespeed.

But yeah, if you're hoping for some EQ-esque pace of the basic game mechanics I think that's a vain hope.

And c'mon man. It's a beta and you're complaining that you might have to rebind a few keys? It's like that joke where the guy says, "Doc, Doc. It REALLY hurts when I punch myself in the face. What should I do?" and the doctor replies, "Well, stop punching yourself in the face."

Yaya I get it... and normally I would rebind. I would never use wasd if I was playing a game seriously... but I felt I should test a new player's experience, not an MMO veteran's.

I'm not looking for an EQ like combat experience... but this is an mmorpg and people like to play for stretches of hours. I don't see being able to comfortably as combat stands in wildstar.

It's gonna be an issue for them, I won't argue that.

Of course, honestly, we're on the old fuck spectrum of MMO gamers now and we might just be grumpy about it.

Do yourself a favor and pick this up. It's the difference between playing a FPS with a controller or a mouse and keyboard. I wont ever play another MMO again without one.

I don't get this. It literally feels no different then other MMOs I have played outside of the slow ones(FF, EQ etc). With no issue playing long duration. You press buttons as often as you can when in combat and move out of shit. Maybe its cause I've played quite a few action style games that it's just not a issue anymore.

It's not like you have to worry Quaid, you already said you wouldn't play this even if it was free.

I tried one, my thumb does not like the positioning of the joystick for some reason.

Ya I've been thinking about it, and I'll probably pull the trigger when I pick up another MMO seriously. Whenever the Fuck that is...

It's hard to use them left handed. When you're left handed you pick up a hodgepodge of these bastardized right handed habits.

But the Good Lord saw our struggle and gave us bigger cocks than the "normies" as sort of a divine compensation, so I don't really complain about it much.

Cinge stop with that tired ass argument. This is an mmorpg discussion board. whether or not we intend to subscribe to a game is totally irrelevant. I'm sure most of us here talk about many games we have no intention of committing to.

I like to discuss my hobby. It's the only reason I bother posting here.

Hmm I may try, but I bought one and tried it for a couple days and my thumb hated me for it, so I returned it. It mainly felt very weird moving left and right with it, the up/down was no real problem.

Ha! I actually just gave this thing away again last night. I had a friend who swore by it for wow, and so I picked one up. Used it for a couple weeks and finally gave up. I gave it to another friend, who also gave it up after a week or so, and gave it back. Gave it to a friend who was really into Mechwarrior, and he had it a few months, and then brought it back one day saying he never used it and thanks for letting him try it. It sat on my shelf for months, before I tried it back out again with Mists of Pandaria. I played about 2 months with it, got used to it, and being able to build crazy macro's into everything really helped. As soon as I stopped playing WoW though? Pushed to the side, never touched again.

I went out to dinner with some friends last night, and then we came back to my house to play some board games. One of them noticed it, asked about it, and I unhooked the thing and handed it over.

If/when he gives it back, I'll post it on the boards and mail it out to whoever wants to try it next.

I can definitely see the appeal, but if you are like me, and type via chat a bunch, it's very inconvenient.

No facts seen, sir. Sorry.

What I've seen in game is the telegraph system with aiming requires more button mashing. Moving and casting means more button mashing. Channeling requires holding down a button.. more mashing. The targeting alone versus the WOW tab combat really adds a huge surplus of APM.

Action queues won't change the nature of combat that drastically.

Explain to me how this game won't have at least double the APM of WOW, given the interactive combat design?
You're saying you don't see facts in my post, and then you're complaining about channeling needs holding down button. The simple fact that you can change how abilities are triggered via the combat options is way better than a full explanation. You're not forced to hold down your button during channeling, it's a choice.

Looks like I missed out on the big cock train. Left handed though!
