I followed that RestedXP guide -> Duskwood, Hillsbrad -> STV/Desolace. Do the dungeon quests they give a ton of xp (Gnomeregan etc)

At 30 you should have a few quests in thousand needles at the goblin racestrip as well for a few quests. Game makes you go all over for those levels, couple at North side of stv, a couple at southshore for murlocs and naga and quite a few in dustwallow.

You should be in Duskwood at 30 I’d say. Then agree with Bruuce head over to thousand needles around 32, south shore only had a couple quests for the low 30s, most are mid 30s. Zog also nailed it you really have to go all over the place for quests around those levels.

I'm just debating how much fuckery there will be in STV on a PVP server. I don't mind PVP at all, but not if it's 24/7 and I can't get anything done.

My experience was worse on SoM than past servers. Tons of rogue gank squads. That being said you get through it no problem.
My advice is to just kill every horde you come across. Dont ignore them. They always jump in and help the other horde when they attack. Would have saved me a few deaths.

Yeah on PvP server you just grin and bear it. Its like mini viet-nam especially around the animal quest givers. Also I love Thousand Needles race track for the low 30s. Easy brainless kill quests. And yeah SOM for some reason is filled with rogues and warriors. Not sure on Desolace for Ally but horde has a few quests there for mid 30s.

STV isn't too bad because there are multiple mob spawn points some of which are hidden away, but Desolace race track was hell camped when I did Classic - massive competition for spawns.

as mindless and relaxing as it was to level a hunter, I realized oh shit i'm a hunter...I mean they are actually doing ok at this stage of raiding with all the fuck melee changes, but i'll probably never raid this go around anyway, and I cant sell DM loot this time either so....

It helps to play on a server that's far removed from your current time zone. Living on the West Coast, I always played on East Coast servers. In the evenings, people would drop off for bed, quest mobs would be plentiful, and ganking a lot more rare.

The Hardcore servers, while busy, are awful. They can't group with anyone, so now you get to wait for that named quest mob. Also the AH is extremely sparse as they can't use it either. I get the thrill of permadeath, and the addon is kinda neat; it's hilarious when someone dies and it says where, what level and the last thing they said in chat LOL.
