Speaking of psychologists, I didn't pick up MoP because the move to pandas pissed me off... I got slightly burned out raiding in Cata decided to wean myself off of wow. For those currently playing is it worth me to get back on the crack again and start paying $15/month?
wow is great now if you don't want to commit to raiding. You get to see all the raids via LFR, and can do it ANYTIME. I've logged in at 4am because I can't sleep and within 15 mins (as a DPS) gotten into a LFR raid, its usually under 2 mins as a healer. Its also really fun soloing old raids, I finally am able to solo Kael'Thas every week on my mage (pick up the staff and use it, makes the 4-boss stage easy), and usually solo MC/AQ40/BWL on 1-2 chars every week for the new pets, which can sell for a good amount of gold. I love being able to raid when I want to, instead of some shitty schedule like a job. I also skipped raiding the past 2 weeks and no one is bitching at me.
LFR is really dumb, its the equivalent of a cutscene to see all the raid bosses except you have to push a few buttons. No skill involved at all, no one cares what your dps/hps is and tanking them is a joke. But it is technically raiding, I suppose. The hardest thing is to not tell yourself "well, LFR is fun, maybe I'll join a real raid now..." because that starts you down the path of wiping for hours because some dumbfuck can't move out of a big circle on the ground, and then your raid group collapses, and then you hate wow once again. With just running LFR, wow is casual and happy as fuck.
And re: LFR and no loot, yeah that sucks. Whatever people say about the rush of killing bosses and stuff, the real rush is getting loot and when you kill 8-15 bosses in a row in LFR with no loot it is shitty as fuck. I think they are putting in stuff where you can get other things in the bag, but they really need to make it so every time you don't get an item your next boss kills chance (in LFR) to get an item is upped by 10%. Yeah, some people will try to game it so they get loot from the highest tier, but who cares its LFR.
