DF mechanically was pretty sound. The issues were that the story was gay, the content is old and boring, and the loot treadmill is still too much effort for what it gets you.
I didn't have that much faith in point 1 being completely fixed, even if Metzen wanted to it was already kind of in process so at best they can rough up some soft edges. It does look like it's going to be better, if not great, stuff like the Nerubian city being patterned like Suramar is a positive.
Part 2 I'm more down about. I don't think Delves will be that interesting initially and they have historically always just canned or made irrelevant anything that doesn't work right away without effort. Nothing else is changing that much.
Part 3 is the worst because they simply refuse to squish the gear gap and get rid of the excess difficult level bloat for raids and dispense with the ultra mythic/M+/pvp stuff. This stuff impacts dungeon design, great treadmill, access, catch up mechanics, stat bloat, everything.
Ironically despite DF and the new talent system being very good overall, I'm fearing that things will slip backwards with the hero talents. They just seem like more useless filler so far.
