Thing is, each class has three specializations that all (more or less) play differently. There are effectively 33 classes, not 11. If you can't find something that tickles your pickle out of 33 choices, the game probably (and unfortunately) just isn't for you.
Play differently? lol

I enjoy healing, I always have so that's no problem, but differently? there's like 6 classes in the game.

Try to defeat X-Mob... Cast 1/2/3, not stand in fire. Cast 1/1/2, not stand in toxic vomit. Cast 3/1/1/2, not stand in toxic butt breath. Try to defeat Y_mob...Cast 1/2/3, not stand in fire. Cast 1/1/2, not stand in toxic vomit. Cast 3/1/1/2, not stand in toxic butt breath. Mob_Y defeated, go back to beating on Mob_X ... Cast 1/2/3, not stand in fire. Cast 1/1/2, not stand in toxic vomit. Cast 3/1/1/2, not stand in toxic butt breath.

The problem with WoW isn't with the classes, it's with the raid encounters that are simply beyond tired and worn out.

Which is very sad because they have some very fun dungeons in WoD but leveling up they were not good XP and at 100 their gear was bad for the effort involved in acquiring it. It was easier to simply hold off doing nagrand till 100 and then put up a dwarven war mill and you would get enough purple upgrades of high enough level to skip directly to LFR if you chose to do so. Most people only ever did the couple required dungeons needed for the legendary follower quest and then called it a day for dungeons.
I'd rather level up through dungeons than grind overland quests...or why not the option to do both like before? It was dumb of them to eviscerate dungeon XP for this xpac. I just got a mage to 100. I had enough stuff to hit iL615 when dinged L100, ran HM LFR for an hour, bought some crap to get iL635, and close to iL640 with like two hour's worth of LFR total. I didn't run a single dungeon the whole time.

Another druther, just give players awesome 5-man dungeons with loot scaled to difficulty. Fuck raiding in its entirety.

Also, give veterans bonus to each character someone has that is max level. 10% xp boost for 1. 20% for 2. 30% for 3...whatever, up to a 50% cap. Also, gimme the option to run dungeons from 1-100 and not see a single photon of sunlight the entire time.

Oh yea me too. I cancelled until the new zone is released which by the looks of it will be in september or so. We got H BH on farm and we can't seem to get enough people for mythic because of CRZ bullshit so we just kinda disbanded.
I cancelled until flying is implemented. Not expecting to be back anytime soon. Hyjal crew, how is the minivan going? I miss youse guys!

What exactly about "flying" would make you want to come back? On that alone?

Genuinely curious.

No, the classes have a big part of it. I enjoy doing shit outside of raids; Seeing what I can now solo, mostly. Maybe a little half-assed nonspeced nongeared pvp. Running suicide mission dungeons with friends...If I had a class I enjoyed outside of raids I'd sub and stay subbed. As it is, I get to like 92 or 93, realize the class bores me and quit.

Freedom to pick and choose what things I am doing in a zone without having to deal with shitty trash. Not having to deal with slow flight paths. Being able to mount up and go AFK when I need to. Principle of the thing. Not having to feel like I wasted hundred of thousands of gold over the years getting flying on all my toons. I was always going to quit if they didn't have flying in by 6.2. Blizz decided not to listen to the customers, so I voted with my wallet and used the little blurb on cancel to say so specifically.

I started to list specs and their play styles, but I decided you're either trolling or too retarded to understand what I'd be attempting to convey. Either way, it's a wasted effort.

Good day sir.

Some classes are different across specs but not really. The dps only classes are the main culprits obviously. They should have gone more extreme with some specs to make the dps only classes feel new. Demonology warlock should be a tank spec. Combat or subelty rogue should have been changed to blademaster using a 2 hander. Not sure about Mage and hunter but you could figure something out. Tank Mage and a melee hunter (shadow hunter). Instead, we get simplified versions of the same old specs.

Frost Mage plays completely different than Arcane which plays completely different than Fire.

This is something I'd be interested in, in case I'm missing something magic in some spec I dont know that well.

Sure, but is it really THAT much different? Use your 4 or so abilities and manage a resource/buff. It is different but not to an interesting and engaging degree so you end up just playing the "best" one.

I mean, he's right there is a slight difference but the difference is like.. standing still and casting arcane missiles or standing still and casting frostbolt. Sometimes you have more reliance on dots and watching your mana.. but "varied" isn't a word I would use to describe any class in this game with the exception of druid which just does the same thing every other class can do. But it's not going to change so there's no use fussin' over it.

Frost is a mix of tempo and DDR, whereas Arcane is all tempo and resource management. Fire is fishing for crits and knowing when/how to react to procs for the biggest damage.

I guess I should've remembered that not everyone cares about whether they're reaching their maximum potential. In light of this revelation, please accept my apologies. Here is a description that I think we can all agree with:

All classes play the same if you go into your LFR, hit 1-2-3 over and over, and push the pretty flashy buttons when they sparkle good.

Hope that settles it.

The problem is if you want maximum potential you don't get to pick the spec you want to play. This is dictated by the balance and encounter in raids.

And here I thought that context would be enough to demonstrate that I was speaking to the maximum potential within the spec, but you got me again WoW thread! Good catch!
