I never pay attention to these guys. Credit cards give cash back and other rewards. Free money is free money. Well, free to me paid for by the people who make minimum payments every month.

It's paid by you. As the consumer, you are the only person bringing money to the table. The vendors have to raise their prices to cover the CC fees so you are just getting some of that back. I don't like it, but me not using a CC is not going to change that in most cases. Few stores give a discount for using cash

From work, I had a personal AMEX that I used for work stuff that I paid off 100% (no choice with AMEX) and got in the habit of that. When COVID hit and shut down, no one would take cash any more. Me & the wife were almost 100% CC by then so it then became 100% total. I bet I don't have $10 in cash in my wallet. Haven't used cash in forever. We have 2, one that gives cash back on shows & restaurants & one that is Amazon which gives 5% on purchases from there and I think 2% on gas. That's it and they are paid off 100% every month. This month due to my hospital stay in August and Xmas , they are about 10K but still paid off 100%. Don't know who this Ramsey person is but sounds like he's full of shit.
Oh also when we moved to this small ass town, no one would take AMEX and I had to cancel it. I hated doing it as they understand what customer service is about, or at least they used to a decade ago.

How do you pay for hookers or buy your drugs and machine guns?

Facts, 3% is added on items to cover the CC fees, we give 3% off your purchase if it's with cash.

What kinda business do you have? A chinese restaurant? Because that 100% checks out. The most likely places I've seen to give the discount for cash are gun stores and chinese restaurants.

Hoss Hoss bro you joke but you don't realize I live in a NV county where pot, hookers, and guns are 100% legal bro. Want to get fucked up , stoned out of your gord, shoot some guns and bang a hooker on a random Tuesday here, there are multiple places to choose from and if you ask the cops, they will show you where to go. Hell one of the Pot shops, the first in our town, is across the street from the courthouse/police complex and the highway patrol station.
I went in a gun store here and asked what the waiting period for a handgun was here and I was told just a few moments for a background check, no days/weeks bullshit. This is the wild west my friend, when are you moving over?

How to say you've never been to the high desert, without saying you haven't been to the high desert. Spent my first summer in the urgent care cuz you don't feel the sweat, you are perfectly dry and don't realize the fluid loss. Thankfully I made it to the house to alert my wife before I passed completely out.

I was in Vegas, and never really went farther north. So some differences I’m sure. My time in the heat was spent wearing the not terribly breathable USAF uniform, plus sit in a forklift for an hour. A swamp can exist in the desert, it’ll just be localized around your ass.

But especially with the incessant wind/breeze, easy as hell to dry out and get into trouble. Had a close call or two myself.

I love vegas, but I got everything I need where I am. I bet our gun laws are better, and lets face it, hookers and weed aren't as much fun when they're legal. Get the government involved and prices skyrocket while quality plummets.

I'm pretty sure I saw the entire state when I drove from vegas to carson city. Other than those 2 cities, there's like a prison and one gas station, right?

But it's a dry heat bro! More importantly, the casinos are air conditioned.

There’s actually some pretty nice kinda suburb areas around Vegas that you won’t see in a normal visit or drive through. There’s also lake havasu along the AZ border. Reno is a weird kinda cool town as well.

Most places have the AC blasting, most of the casinos suck because you’re practically smoking a cigarette every couple/few hours you’re in there.

My office chair has turned into my second, bed before bed.

Wasn't sure if that was real at first, sort of looks like an ai pic. I was mostly skeptical because htf do they make a chair that looks like that but still has the slide out footrest thing?! I have a chair with one of those, and it has to be the stupidest design of anything ever. But sure enough:

I tried out a desk chair at a big electronics store a few years ago that had an actual fold out footrest like a real recliner, and I don't remember it being especially expensive. I had just assumed that those were going to be on all decent desk chairs now, but the last time I bought a desk chair, I tried to find one. Instead, it looks like they all have these monstrosities now.
I should have put this in the rustled thread...
