Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

I went and paid off my stuff today and i'm still a little disappointed everything I preordered or paid off isn't available at launch but our Gamestop is pretty well sold out of everything.

I'm not sure about everyone's feelings about the WiiU but I think it is a very underestimated console. It is the most played system in my house and we love many of the games in terms of replay-ability. Mario Maker, NintendoLand, Smash, MarioKart, and our digital library forced me into trade our XBONE and those games and keeping our WiiU.

In the end, I'm a PC Gamer these days but in regards to our family, our PS4 is gone, XBONE now gone, and what is left is a WiiU, NES Classic, and soon to be Switch so I guess I can't complain too much as it seems that Nintendo is winning the console battle in our household. I guess though that entitles me to complain.

• Splatoon 2
• Mario Kart 8
• NBA 2K18 (when available)

My Dad preorder:

• Switch
• Zelda
• Tetris
• Mario Odyssey

So here's to hoping that late 2017 and early 2018 will be filled with better news but I guess for now I have enough to keep my busy.

Main problem with the Wii U was simply the games. A new Zelda game was never even released on the system. Also it never could get the price drops late in life that it needed because of the production costs associated with the game pad.

Not to support Japanese game makers (since I agree) but the Japanese aren't alone in rehashing crap. The we've had what like 18 call of duties and battlefields, the same sports games for 20-years, etc. etc. EA, Ubisoft, etc. have all turned turned into assembly lines creating incremental releases.

I think I commented on a past version of this forum that the western mainstream audience lost interest in Final Fantasy once we could see what the characters were supposed to look like (plus, they're all fucking emo).

I've noticed that WiiU games are also disappearing from shelves. I think we're at the point where anything you're interested in for the WiiU you should buy very soon, with the low production numbers most of it will be impossible to find used.

Do you have any kids Muligan? Boys? I guess its ok if you had girls and they just played Zelda and Mario but goddamn your son will grow up all feminist and wanna chop his dick off if you don't expose him to some good ol fashioned GTA, Call of Duty, Destiny, Battlefield. etc. A boy needs to learn how to kill aliens, fuck hookers, kill the hookers to get his money back, and the difference between an assault rifle, an LMG, a grenade launcher, and a pistol.

Even Minecraft teaches you necessary skills like how to build a shelter, how much work it takes to actually make something, how to kill homeless people who want to steal your money, and when to stop digging.

Two boys.... 9 and 5. Actually we do play CoD, Destiny, Battlefront (we didn't care much for Battlefield), and Overwatch..... GTA hasn't quite made it into our house just yet. They both play far more Minecraft than they probably should.

Not sure exactly how your post should be taken but I much prefer my gaming experience growing up than the instant gratification and gaming ADD that is today. Kids today play 30 different games a month and they're unhappy with all of them. Some of them may get a sequel but at least Nintendo has some culture to it. You may have a killer KD ratio but if you don't know who Mario is and never beat a Zelda, that's sheltering imo lol

the flip side is that'd be the ONLY two games I play on the switch for like 9 months until mario comes out

my refurb wii u arrives today, going through the steps right now of creating a SD card for turning on the hacks

If you think MK8 isn't a great game you have an objectively wrong opinion. Game is fucking great. Probably the best value in DLC from anything ever released on console as well.

Supposedly, yes. I'm probably going to order one tomorrow or Thurs, curious how things go with spronk's.

My plan is to buy it to play Zelda and maybe some other things. If nothing interesting is announced at E3 I can just sell the thing.

mine came in today, i don't think its 100% new since it had two tiny, tiny, tiny scratches on the top glossy but there isn't any dust on the fan (usual sign of age). It took a 15 minute call to Nintendo to transfer my licenses from my old wii u (traded in last year) to the new one, and then had to wait around 2 hours for them to "do it" and send an email and I was up and running no problem. The guy did say my serial number had no other NNID's attached to it so either its someone who never went online or its a system that never was sold. Either way I'm happy.

I spent about 3 hours tonight doing the hack stuff from Home · FlimFlam69/WiiUTutorial Wiki · GitHub on the step right now where I am installing redNAND which takes like an hour to dump the 32 gig flash memory to SD card. Did the homebrew stuff easily though, had to buy brain age for $7 from the eshop but now I can run any software I want or write software for the wii u which is cool. After Mocha CFW is installed later tonight I should be able to run any game, ones I didn't buy, and play online no problem. I'll be able to run Zelda BOTW day one since as far as the wii u is concerned its 100% legit and I have updates blocked so they can't force a system update on me.

The instructiosn for that FlimFlam69 tutorial are confusing as fuck so if anyone else does it and needs help just make a post or whatever, a few of the steps don't really work out the way he writes them and I had to cold power down the thing a bunch of times as it froze up. If you do plan on hacking your Wii U make sure you get at least a 64gb sd card (I got a 128gb microSD i was gonna use for switch) and a 500gb+ USB2/3 drive PLUS a y-connector. I already had that, but you need the Y. Pretty soon they will allow Wii games to run off FAT32 drives but for now they run off the sd card.

I already legit own digitally like a dozen games so it was nice getting them all back. Plus now I can backup my saves to my PC, and its kinda Lulzy that it took a complete firmware jailbreak for the wii u to allow that

With WiiU being officially dead, might as well mod mine too

There's a 99.9% probability that there will be a new Metroid game for the Switch, and it will more than likely be announced at E3.

PROBABLY one of my all time favorite games. its pretty much flawless. game is a fucking joy to play. I played sooo many hours when it was released. So much fun.
