The fact that not one scene showed super cowboy making it home has some concern for me. The bad guys did talk about him but that could be because they heard he was coming. They better not end that season with him finally walking up to the ranch.

Fuckers...

Otherwise it looks good.

This is the last season, so I'm guessing Spencer finally shows up and kills everyone and saves the ranch in the last episode or two.

If they do then everyone who cried about them not showing enough travelling time in Game of Thrones should be forced to watch this series Clockwork Orange style.

Me & the wife just watched it. It was well slow as hell and not much. We both decided to wait a few weeks and build up episodes before picking it back up.

cannot believe the son STILL isn't fucking home

Just to reiterate my prediction.

Nah. It's going to take him 6 episodes to reach the ranch. In episode 3 he will be on a train that's hit by a twister and carried back out to sea where the ship bringing Alex to America will see it and rescue him.

This show is so fucking dumb.

TIL they've added Ellis Island to the list of fake and gay historical retcons.

In new new, fucking retarded version of history, all the immigrants coming through Ellis Island were strip searched and finger raped. Because obviously 1920s American culture was really big on male doctors strip searching female patients. That was totally a thing that happened, ever. Also white men can't help but rape and abuse any woman they encounter.

I was honestly caught off guard. I'm familiar with the ridiculous "Indians were the good guys" trope but Ellis Island?

Is there any part of history they arent gonna retcon? So fucking gay

Not sure about sexual abuse, but I did recall reading about during the Eugenics era, some people were allegedly turned away or treated like shit on that basis

Oh I fully expect some young poster to come back with "yeah thats exactly what they taught us in school" just like the Indian stuff

All that does is put a date on the retcon

I'm just tired of it. Any piece of American history with regular white Christian Americans get retconned into a horror movie, and the new generation grows up insisting "yup thats how it happened"

It must be nice to have so much moral clarity based on nothing. A show depicts one person being unethical you jump in with "No this never happened and I know because I know. If I Google it and find out I'm wrong, that means I'm even more right because history is just liberals lying but my information that came out of my ass is 100% true."

I mean... most normal functioning adults with reason and a sense - during Covid, without any "real data" or "real historical knowledge" said, assumed and were correct that 100% of the government bull was bull and the "dangerous anti science cures" were more likely to work or do nothing than the clot shot that is all the more likely to do something rather than even just nothing.

Yeah, you can't trust mainstream media or politicians. That doesn't mean that you just get to believe whatever you want is the truth.

I'm sure people were checked for diseases and I'm sure it was less than dignified in some cases but that was pretty obviously some "American immigration system bad" programming there.

Did anything at all actually happen this episode? All the characters traveled. One got rabies shots.

Neat.

It's hard to make an argument that women weren't checked for VD and pregnancy if you look into it. There were no female doctors back then so it stands to reason that women at Ellis Island had dudes looking at their junk if they wanted to come in and it was probably somewhat traumatic for them. It's not like they showed him being a perv or something, he was just condescending and degrading and Aldarion loses his shit over how it never happened as if he knows something about it. It's just a story. If you want to pretend nothing bad happened in US history then you should probably stick to Gunsmoke and the odd John Wayne movie.

Of course bad things happened, but these type of scenes are made to show the horrors or lack of empathy (by modern standards, of course) in order to push a message. The messaging is really obvious when it happens.

Just like how the indians are mostly noble and just wanting to live in peace and the white men are all bloodthirsty.
