I'm glad the Cowboys have no cap space until after Romo/Spencer extend. I don't trust Jerry to not give out some terrible contract to these middle of the road players that have been signing for record amounts yesterday and today.

The teams making all these bad signings all have one thing in common: no QB, otherwise they wouldn't have the money to pay these fools.

I think a lot of it has to do with cap victims -- mainly because the projected cap and the actual cap are pretty fucking wide apart. There's definitely a lot more buzz this than any I can remember of recent.
That combined with the new rookie salary cap.

I wish he would give 1-2M to Turner, would be nice to have a durable back up and a RB that actually knows how to get in the fucking end zone from the goal line.

What the fuck was the point of Brady extending then? I don't get it. 4 TE set sounds retarded, I hope it happens.

I have to think there was more than money involved. Remember the start of 2012 when they sat him...until Hernandez got hurt?

Say what you will about Wes, but he was overall very reliable AND not injury prone. That's the biggest thing. Gronk is great, but past 2 years he has been knocked out of play when we needed him most. I'm sure Brady is pissed, even if he never says it. Wes was an excellent security blanket.

Wes will go down as one of the best slot receivers of all time. Reports are they were a million apart. Something else is clearly going on over there, very strange.

The Pats would never give up a first rounder to match Cruz or anyone else's tender. The amount that the Broncos got Welker for should show you what the Pats probably think he is worth. Wouldn't be surprised if he has a very quiet year. Might still be a valuable piece for that offense, but probably not the super steal it looks like on the surface. Only being a million apart means their offer was about as generous as they could imagine being or they would have managed to keep him.

Personally, I think 4 TE set sounds awesome.

Has this ever been done by any offense before?

You honestly wouldn't be surprised if one of the greatest slot receivers in the history of the league had a quiet season with one of the better QB's in history who fucking loves to throw short quick passes in a hurry up offense? This is a fucking match made in heaven, Welker is amazing at reading coverages and which route to run and Manning changes shit up on the fly due to coverage. Hell I would be fucking shocked if Welker had a quiet season.

I've heard of 3TE schemes, it's usually short yardage/goal line though. Can't recall ever seeing 4 TE on the field at once, or used in the way its being proposed here.

Yeah I think Welker and Peyton will get to work pretty quickly and fucking tear up the league next year. Jesus, Thomas and Decker on the outside, Welker in the slot... pretty lethal, and fits Peyton 1 Kang quota.

And you deserve those negs Azeth you fucker.

I think conceptually a 4 TE offense resembles how the Patriots draft/pay their tight ends - they identify that while the league finds corners like Revis/Sherman etc the best way to counter them may be with size/strength versus a foot fight. it's not necessarily schematically different, it's just slower and values a different skill set.

And you deserve those negs Azeth you fucker.
yup

pretty detailed article from last year about a 4 TE offense

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...-end-formation
Good read. it would truly be a nightmare trying to match up with 4 Te's with small corner backs. Would love to see this done, I just wish it was a team outside the division doing this. Coincidence that Miami is letting their dbs walk, and replaced our lb core overnight?

Despise Belichick, but love how he thinks outside the box.

I hope we can make it through all these signings and see Titus young still unsigned and flipping burgers come mid season.
