Yeah, that's probably it....I bet he's on the phone with Dennis Dixon begging right now.

Less retarded theory: He's hoping it's a fad cuz that shit is a bitch to coach against.
I agree with Tomlin. A couple more RGKnees will probably prove him mostly correct.

I know power rankings are pretty retarded, but generally the analysis of the team isn't too terrible. But what the fuck is this?

Danny Amendola for Wes Welker is an upgrade as long as the former Rams slot receiver can stay healthy. (Hensley)
Welker almost doubles Amendola's production every season. That comment deserves a "C'mon, man!"

Declaring greatness 5 months before the first kickoff based on free agent acquisitions is pretty cheap. Remember the "dream team" in Philly?

when i read this comment on the rankings, i was compelled to post like you have. however, even tho the guy is wrong - Amendola is not better than Welker RIGHT NOW, I do believe the Patriots made a good move. Dink & dunk to the slot isn't cutting it.

Oh, I'd agree that it could very well work out for them. But to say that he's an upgrade because "maybe" just sounds ridiculous to me. That's like saying someone in the draft is a sure thing. It just doesn't work like that. Amendola on the Patriots is an unknown quantity.

It could work out well or he could completely bust with them. Considering he's never had a breakout season, paying him like they did and calling it an upgrade is disingenuous to me. The Patriots had a known quantity in Welker, and they paid Amendola the money Welker wanted. There was also chemistry there.

Welker could also bust with the Broncos. He wasn't great with the Dolphins, who's to say he doesn't revert back to that without Brady throwing to him?

Not to mention besides the game against us last year (along with our horrible secondary), he only broke 7 catches or 70 yards in a game just once...the tie against the 49ers. He went 11 for 102 in that one, but that as also a 5 quarter game. I think he can be productive, especially in NE, but he has a long way to go to proving he can replace Welker's level of production.

Helmet rule has passed, tuck rule has been struck down

Manning may not see Welker as the safety valve that Brady did. Hell, the amount of talent that Manning has to throw to this year will be incredible. With him spreading the ball, Welker may not see very many targets. Maybe Welker won't be able to adjust to the audibles that Manning calls. I don't know. I'm only saying that just because Welker was awesome in one system doesn't automatically mean he'll succeed in another. It isn't necessarily about the talent of the quarterback.

Edit: Also, stupid fucking helmet rule. I almost guarantee the outcome of a game will be decided by a judgement RB helmet call. The league should be looking to get rid of judgement calls, not add more. That's why I think so many people wish the NFL would adopt the NCAA pass interference rules.

Bengals were the only team to vote against the helmet rule. No fucks given.

Amendola is pretty good, remember he had Sam Suckford throwing to him and he spent a lot of time injured the past two seasons. If he wasn't such an injury risk I'd be very upset to lose him. He is always open and if he stays healthy I predict Brady will love the shit out of him.

Jay is an excellent rusher, averaging 5.7 yds per rush last season. I trust Trestman.

Lions might finish like 4-12 or 5-11 but Stafford could have 800 pass attempts and 5500 yards next season!
