disregarding my last remarks, do you actually believe Cutler can play a whole season without getting hurt and not sitting the bench for a least a few over 16 games?

I sure as hell don't.

That article is all sorts of sensational. You don't pay an aging and increasingly sub-par athlete just to keep him with a team. Can't help but laugh at 2 million to play it out as being a slap to the face. If he really wanted to stay he would take the deal because he isn't worth more then that now and anyone who does pony up the 4 million plus he is looking for is welcome to him. Chase that money Urlacher.

Cutler is one of the toughest qbs in the game. He can definitely do 16 games without getting hurt.

What really bugs me is that he is willing to piss his legacy away for a difference of 1.5m, he was willing to "settle" for 3.5m for 1 year. Is he really that desperate for money that he is willing to tarnish his legacy like that?

His agent must be pissing in his ear. The market for aging players has been ice cold. Why the Texans are giving Reed 12m/2y is beyond me. But if anything Harrison is probably a better OLB than Urlacher is at ILB at this point and he can't get much interest either. But both Harrison and Reed are significantly younger than Urlacher as well.

Chasing a different contract at the end of a HoF career is more the standard than the exception now anyway. He will get to retire his legacy in Chicago and enter the hall as a Bear.

He needs to stop taking career advice from Olin Kreutz.

The Bears o-line has been terrible during Cutler's tenure in Chicago. No one can take snaps behind that line and make it 16 games.

Not sure how I feel about this as a Bucs' fan. On one hand, they have a terrible secondary and Revis would definitely be a huge upgrade. On the other hand, Revis is coming off a pretty bad injury, and while some players have been as good or better after injury (like Adrian Peterson) most haven't. On top of that, Revis wants huge piles of money. If he comes back and becomes the top corner in the NFL? Cool, pay the guy, but who knows how well he will be post-injury.

I think the Bucs can structure a contract to shield themselves from some of the issues that may arise from signing Revis. The question is, is he worth those draft picks? I'm leaning towards no.

Not to mention the market corrected itself at the CB position this off season. He's going to ask 14-15m per, it's what he asked from the Jets 2 years ago. Had he been a FA this year, and not gotten hurt he probably lands 10m. Not being able to see him run for me would be a deal breaker. On top of the big contract have to give up a few high picks? Pass.

I'd rather spend money on the front seven to generate a great pass rush, and find myself average dbs.

You can say the same thing against the bronco's while Cutler was there. Manning steps in and takes control. Good things happen. Cutler is a whiney piece of shit. If all things good happen this year, he will be retired.

EDIT when I say retired, I am talking about the amount of concussions he has already had.

Revis is a holdout threat every other season it seems like and he/his agent are probably assholes behind the scenes - even the three ring circus that is the New York Jets seems to believe that passing on the talent is worth losing the headaches. He's basically playing the wrong position to get paid $15M per...does the guy think he's a quarterback?

Broncos have been playing with same oline for 5 years now?
