Of all those names I think I'd be most pleased with Lovie Smith.Glad we kept Bruce Allen. Hope we bring in an actual GM though. It also sounds like we're looking at David Shaw. Hopefully we can snag him or Zimmer. Also heard Jay Gruden (blech) and Lovie Smith (might be ok with that).
Yeah he really got no chance at all.Thought this was interesting regarding Chud. Apparently the players are pretty pissed (although it's all anonymous).
Rob Chudzinski firing infuriates many Cleveland Browns players
Nope, they won it in OT and the refs fucked em. And they likely would have won it in regulation with the 5 yards closer FG that the NFL has officially said should have happened.Chiefs threw the game on purpose yesterday
That sucks. They will probably become a very good team if they hire a coach who isn't an undisciplined fucking lunatic.Schwartz is out in Detroit also.
Bargain.Lions paying Schwartz $12m to not coach their team.
Monte Kiffin and their strength/conditioning coach are really what need to go. People keep bringing up how Mike Woicik used to be the Pats conditioning coach as the reason that it's not their fault that half their team is out with hamstring injuries every year, but that is such shitty reasoning. Being on a different team 10 years ago that was really good doesn't mean you get a pass for being shitty nowHe's not getting fired - the team plays hard for him even when you'd expect them not to, and the drafts he has had HC input on have been good compared to when Wade basically let Jerry draft whoever with no input. Their off the field issues have also pretty much disappeared since Garrett purged the locker room of trouble makers. They also are not the most penalized team in the league like they were under Wade.
Changing coaches all the time is a shit way to build a football team - even if Garrett is a relative newbie - changing coaches now will just set the team further back. If you want a new coach then there needs to be wholesale changes like purging the roster of pretty much anyone over the age of 30, including Romo/Witten/Ware, and starting over entirely.
How is it possible to not have a decent #2 opposite of Megatron? He's getting triple teamed every fucking play.Detroit will make the playoffs next year for sure.
Big part of it is probably getting a QB that can complete a pass to a normal mortal. Rather than a mutant half-giant freak. How is it possible to not have a decent #2 opposite of Megatron? He's getting triple teamed every fucking play.
Fair enough. I never watch Detroit play, Stafford always seems like a shitty QB to me.Big part of it is probably getting a QB that can complete a pass to a normal mortal. Rather than a mutant half-giant freak.
Keep in mind even with all Megatron's gifts he still has to make crazy catches constantly and has a much lower catch % than a lot of other top WR's. Because he's always jumping/diving/fighting through DBs to make a catch.
Two yard dump off for 30 yard gain is hardly an example of accuracy. The few times I watched them this year the other WR's seemed fairly serviceable and Stafford was hitting them. Certainly helps them to have Johnson drawing coverage I'm sure. Stafford's problem seems more like making shitty decisions and throwing picks or getting sacked/stripped than not being able to hit his targets.Bush had like 500 yards through the air too, its not like Stafford can't throw the ball with any accuracy, despite his weirdo mechanics.
Christian Ponder would argue otherwise. Two yard dump off for 30 yard gain is hardly an example of accuracy.
