Well, without getting too political about it, it wasn't the politics that made it funny, it was his delivery. Like he was talking about taking a bullet, or getting hit by a car.

I know I was just kidding. This is partly why Boucher and his 1-3-1 are so damn frustrating. It works way more than it should. Like watching the Devils in their prime.

Honestly, I hope it works out for them, but last time they tried to take their very own style of whatever into the finals, they got absolutely destroyed by Anaheim. It was like watching an elementary school team try to play seriously in the NHL.

So Ottawa winning game 1 in Pit, and holding them to 0-0 through most of 2 periods is a pretty good sign that Ottawa's got some balls.

Holy crap, who could not see that goal coming a mile away? Ottawa all of a sudden shifted into penalty kill mode, creating no offense. Malkin is a beast.

Edit: they just posted, 14 minutes in to the third, Ottawa hasn't had a shot this period. What the hell happened?

Trap works...until you trap yourselves. Fuck Ottawa for making it so damn unwatchable, too.

That's kinda what I was waiting for. Sometimes, they shove their heads so far up their own asses that they just shut right down. Question is, will they rebound for game 3?

Playing at home should give them a boost. Hell they got the split in Pittsburgh and held the Pens to 2 goals in over 2 games. Can't say it's not working to some degree. But they need to generate more offense like they were in G1.

These are true words.

When they stop creating offense, they lose. Every. Fucking. Time. How is it that every spectator can see it, but the coaches and offensive line can't?

To be fair, the plan to hold the fort and frustrate the Pens was working for almost the entire game. Honestly though Anderson should have stopped the Kessel goal, he just couldn't reset after the original shot block. They were just hoping for another moment of magic like Ryan's OT winner.

Okay, good points. Frustrating the Pens Offensive starters isn't a bad plan, but it can't be at the expense of creating any offense of their own.

Agreed, not a recipe for long term success, but if they had held it to 0-0, and gotten a goal off a rush late in 3rd or OT to steal it, they'd be going home up 2-0 with the Pens having had zero answers.

And that would have been so delicious...

Ottawa local papers are only lukewarm on the Sens having momentum going into tonight. Should be interesting. That hit on Rust, though. Daaamn.

He can still lay the wood, no question. Well if you win tonight, I'm sure they'll be a lot more upbeat.

So, everyone wondered if Ottawa can overcome the inertia of the last game. They've obviously done that.

Additionally, the major issues last game for Ottawa were flaccid neutral zone play, and the complete lack of the creation of offense destroyed them. In this game, Pitt can't get across the centre line unmolested, and Ottawa's offense production is obviously excellent. If Ottawa played like this all the time, they'd be shoo-ins for the Cup.
