They may want to look at Seattle.....cause cowboys won’t have any cash for those guys. Good luck Dak on your jacked ankle with your offensive line built from 6/7th round picks,

Washingtons Dline is going to wreck him.

The dak contract is nuts considering the injury. I figured a tag and dump

And Jerry continues to show the world he's the dumbest owner in football. Cal meet your better.

Prescott's salary-cap number for this season will be $22.2 million instead of the $37.7 million that would have come along with the franchise tag, a savings of $15.5 million against this season's cap, Schefter reported.

Well that's the benefit of doing the long term deal to spread out the cap.

well, it's like close to 40M the following seasons, it's just small for this season coming up. I think the idea is suspecting the TV deal goes through the roof and the cap explodes so a 40M hit isn't going to look that bad when Josh Allen ends up signing for 58M a season.

On the other hand if the TV deal doesn't go crazy that 40M hit might be real shitty and they get to be a fringe playoff team in a shit division for half a decade at best.

Was this on par for what Dak has been asking for the last year? If they knew they were going to sign him why didn't they do that when he was cheaper

He's getting the better of the Cowboys by a lot, particularly coming off a horrendous injury and yet to be on the field again.

Yeah that's the thought process I'm assuming.

I mean there's a non zero chance that he's not very good after that injury or that the networks don't pay nearly as much as predicted so it could still be a shit sandwich.

Just so many instances of teams that could have gotten guys much cheaper instead of messing with franchise tags. Sounds like the Football Team is going to tag Scherff again, $18M 1 year cap hit for RG.

right, but that's only a 1 year commitment. you sign some dude for 4-5 seasons and it's a totally different animal.

Yeah but this is the 2nd consecutive year we've tagged him. If you're Scherff, why would you accept a deal for too much less than that now? We should have just ponied up before tagging him last year.

So glad a team is out there that signed a qb to a worse contract than what Watson got.

Mediocre at best teams handing out stupid contracts for years on end only hamstrings said teams further.

Watson is actually elite though, Dak is just above average. QB contracts in general are kind of retarded, but Watson should have one of the biggest ones.

The few teams in good salary cap situations could really clean up if they are smart and patient, not overpaying guys on Day 1.

I came here to read about Dak's contract and this made me very sad.

The average salary for an NFL referee is $205k. They probably like having the off season where they don't have to work and that's plenty of cash to live on year round. Hell I don't feel sorry for anyone that makes that kind of money and only works 6 months out of the year. If I had that deal I would even be okay with thousands of drunken retards in sports bars around the country calling me an idiot on Sunday.

Don't some of those refs have regular jobs making mullions though? Remember, it's not 6 months of work. It's 6 months working one day a week (with probably 2 days of travel).
