well, it's like close to 40M the following seasons, it's just small for this season coming up. I think the idea is suspecting the TV deal goes through the roof and the cap explodes so a 40M hit isn't going to look that bad when Josh Allen ends up signing for 58M a season.

I mean there's a non zero chance that he's not very good after that injury or that the networks don't pay nearly as much as predicted so it could still be a shit sandwich.

Just so many instances of teams that could have gotten guys much cheaper instead of messing with franchise tags. Sounds like the Football Team is going to tag Scherff again, $18M 1 year cap hit for RG.

right, but that's only a 1 year commitment. you sign some dude for 4-5 seasons and it's a totally different animal.

Yeah but this is the 2nd consecutive year we've tagged him. If you're Scherff, why would you accept a deal for too much less than that now? We should have just ponied up before tagging him last year.

Watson is actually elite though, Dak is just above average. QB contracts in general are kind of retarded, but Watson should have one of the biggest ones.

Don't some of those refs have regular jobs making mullions though? Remember, it's not 6 months of work. It's 6 months working one day a week (with probably 2 days of travel).
