This is the very DEFINITION of hype…
A Q and A session is meant to generate hype. Don't tell me you're dumb.enough to believe he was just bored or doing this out of his own good will. It’s a Q and A my man….people ask questions he answers them. Not sure what you would have preferred, maybe ask him a question yourself next time?
I was honestly surprised that he was able to just summon these things rather than just talk about them. Shows that they have a lot of stuff made already that aren’t in the version available to alpha 2 peeps.
Seems like a dev passionate about what he is working on to me.
Any public event by any company or corporation is meant to generate positive press or hype for what they are selling…it’s why corporations market and engage with the public outside of just selling them things. You are very smart to have passed that hurdle of understanding and you should be proud of yourself.A Q and A session is meant to generate hype. I'm glad we're finally in agreement that the video was a marketing hype vehicle.Any public event by any company or corporation is meant to generate positive press or hype for what they are selling
Very goodI'm glad we're finally in agreement that the video was a marketing hype vehicle.
Having a great time, on Lyneth server. Come join. How is this game coming along? I think I remember trying it early and feeling like it was a little boring. Having recently tried out Pantheon and refunded it, I'm keen to find an MMO that scratches the itch until we get M&M. Is it any good?
Are you describing classic Everquest? Well, modern gaming generation is definitely more toxic that's for sure, but other than that......Add to this the toxic play environment of players constantly taking advantage of kiting trains, the low and way to heavily contested resources, the lack of any fun ways of leveling solo, and the lack of any real response to the toxic environment...
Sadly, chief among them appears to be Steven. There is a reason all Social Sandbox / Resource Control Global PvP games except EVE have failed. And we are seeing the very early signs of that here.I feel like people forget what EQ was like before private zones.

Overpopulation of servers. What signs in your opinion?
We have like 10 active people and are all max lvl, with 1-2 alts, with 4-5 pieces of legendary/epic crafted gear we farmed ourselves. We have a freehold. The only thing out of our reach currently is mayorship of a node, because only the voting nodes are in now and we dont have the numbers. I am starting to believe you guys arent even playing or trying....or you really dont want another EQ.Overpopulation of servers.
Underabundance of Resources.
Monopolies of Resources to certain groups with no recourse because of the snowball effects of monopolizing those resources.
Basically every single reason these types of games have failed in the past.
Yes we play alot and this is exactly the game we want - a modern EQ. Some of us camp named spawns while we are working, others travel around and gather resources and mark the times so we can gauge respawns of the nodes, others farm trash mobs for trash gold drops...etc. Its very chill and farm heavy, and very heavily group / guild focused, which is what I personally missed in how MMOs have progressed. Can have game tab on one side/monitor, work or other stuff on other...can afk for 20min inbetween spawns...dont have to worry about constant action action action or moving through dungeons whenever you want to make progress for your chracter. Every now and then we have a conflict with other groups. some of us deal with it by going other places some of us train them to oblivion, and rarely PVP for camp spots happen if both sides want it.The problem is, most people do not want another Everquest with regards to player toxicity taking away from experience. There is a reason Everquest went to instancing and started enforcing the no train policy. Creating a game that just caters to players who want to make other players suffer will lead to abandoned servers. There are other games, even if they too are not perfect. Everquest came out with no real competition. When that competition arrived, Its population dropped dramatically. If you drive away most of the population, then the game(The one they want to create) dies. It needs money to continue running. Intrepid employs 200+ people. They need those people for future content or in this case, to finish the game. That costs a lot of money.
The game has become a race of funds verse completion at this point. Its not looking good for completion at its current rate for what they want to achieve.
I am guessing your 10 people play 40+ hours a week and started right when the servers went live. I imagine the game is fun if players can do that.
Anything negative you say about the game is automatically twisted into you wanting to play WoW and that you dont know anything. This person's account is so new, and so active in these threads, with no trace of origin, that it would be foolish to think they arent an alt account. The problem is, most people do not want another Everquest with regards to player toxicity taking away from experience.
