Working on the 3d model, I'll edit it in when done.

Quick clip before I start processing and the computer starts smoking-

Edit:
Here is the 3d model withnoediting in the point cloud. I have another one that I'll upload after more editing (I have about 2 hours right now into editing the point cloud in the other model). This is a low res model, so the structure itself doesn't have a lot of detail because of that...but all of the weird ballooning around the "busy" structures is because of noise in the point cloud, which is what I'm working on now.

Edit2:

Here is the model after about 2 hours in the point cloud -Silo - 2hours by omnifoxaerial - 3D model - Sketchfab
You can see that a lot of the ballooning is cleaned up, but there is still a lot left. I'm going to change some processing options and point generation criteria, and leave it re-processing overnight. Either way, models with busy structures like this will take some manual intervention....but I want to figure out where the balance is in editing.

A couple hours on this one went a lot further. The roof edges could use another pass and I haven't even touched the ladder on the back side yet.

3D model- Can anyone that has trouble viewing this please post and let me know? Not seeing the texture display on lower end computers. I'm trying to find the max resolution I can share these at, without worrying about some people not being able to display it.

Edit:
About 4.5 hours of post processing. I said "fuck it" and removed most of the ladder on the back side. Learned a few tricks for editing in the future that would have saved me some time on the big silo.

And a flythrough animation from the perspective of the actual flight path. 200ish pictures. Don't get dizzy.

These two have been out flying every day collecting footage and bugging me to work on making a promo/demo video.
I sent this to them after an hour trying out adobe premier.

Got a chuckle out of that. Good thing there was nobody else in the office.
Haha, good. I'm glad someone else enjoyed that. The dick-grabber's wife almost made herself throw up from laughing.

Anyways, this is my first attempt at a real shareable demo. I'm going to add text to it tomorrow. Too late to learn something else new tonight.

Assuming you guys are getting bored of the modelling stuff, here's a couple clips from this afternoon.
I sped up some of the shots, which didn't work too well with the shake from the high wind. I uploaded these to send to some friends and let me know if the colors look fake or not.

Some of the greens look overly saturated and a little unnatural, especially when next to a field that is much more brown. A comparison to the non color adjusted video would help.

That's what I'm hearing. The pilot thought it looked good...I'm starting to wonder if he's colorblind too.
Thanks

That survey example is sweeeeeeeeeet I gotta get some free time and get in to this.

Would it work for modeling streetscapes? Assuming you can pretty much just fly down the middle of them.

You mean a road itself? Yea, that was one of my ideas....to map potholes for the city. But that job just got handed off to someone new at the city, and they seemed a little overwhelmed. "Drones? Huh?"

Everything, building facades etc, Streetscapes get pretty crowded especially the more fucked up ones with overhead lines/building connections all over the place so when you renovate them you really have to have your shit together or your light pole is going through a building canopy, power lines, or a guy wire. Also, landscape archs would probably cream their jeans for the renderings for presentations to get the work.

Working on a 166acre vineyard that is choking my computer to death. This is about 110 acres or so of it, and we're taking a ton of extra pictures to try to generate an accurate elevation model. This is ~1300 pictures.

We've also been working hard on a grant application we're trying to get in at the end of the month.

Ok, I'm pretty Damn proud of myself for this one (from the above vineyard)
I'm out of town and connected to the workstation to see how processing was coming along.

Edit (instead of bumping):
The Micasense camera arrives this week, so I wanted to test having a 2nd camera set up for comparisions.
Figured I'd take a few shots.
Nothing fancy, but I might try to do a cool hero shot to go with the logo in a bit. I want to see how the GoPro Flux feature works with the blades in flight.

Oh, and OmniFox turned 1 year old 2 days ago. To celebrate, I finished this fucking video, and installed our RedEdge3.

94acres of winter wheat with the new camera.
Also, we had a fucking explosion of business in the last 2 weeks. Half of it is the camera company actually contracting us out for some jobs, and I don't even know where the other half came from.

If it's ag then farmers are about to start planting if they haven't already. Probably want a look at heat maps. Construction is heating up too.

Unrelated, i was asked to fly for a demo day that a local business centric drone users group is hosting at a tiny nearby airport. There's a NOTAM already set for the event and local FAA reps will be there to answer questions for the public.
